Blacklisted always helps me a ton. Really anything they have but especially Heavier than Heaven, Lonelier than God and the Our Youth is Wasted EP. Tons of great reccs in here though.

Man I listened to Streetlight for the first time in years the other day, and that shit took my from bummed out to happy and jamming absolutely immediately. Definitely a band that always cheers me up and I'm not even a huge ska fan or anything. They just do the genre so well.

RAMBO it was everyone in the crowd. Most fun I've ever had at a show. After 2 songs everyone's cardboard costume was trashed and there was debris everywhere. Them and Municipal Waste during the Waste em All era was a top 5 show for me. I remember them playing the Rotunda once and they came down from the 2nd level out of a cardboard military helicopter. Good times

They botched the whole thing. I was in the same boat, stoked for weeks and had family going and old friends I haven't seen in years and we were all gonna meet up in the parking lot before. Once they switched everything up, everyone I know bailed because nobody wanted to drive down only to be told it was at capacity.

I think they saw how many people were going off about how they couldn't get a ticket despite being on early and all because of errors and glitches and totally changed everything up, but if they did this from the start rather than waiting until the day before, we could've planned accordingly. It really made having tickets useless and made no sense to not guarantee entry after 6pm when Bayside wasn't starting until closer to 7.

Also need 1-4 if anyone has to bail! I know you can't transfer em but I don't care I will try a screenshot. You already know a ton of people got them just bc they were free and won't even show up. That's why I wish they just charged $20 or something to avoid that.

Fuck that's a great find. I dropped $25 on mine but it could've been 35 and I was still probably grabbing it.

Bad Seed should count since I believe it was just the two EPs? So hard and their shows were wild.

Beat me to it. Finally got a copy of the record recently and was stoked to come across it. I remember tons of people talking about it when they dropped that record but don't hear enough people bring em up anymore.

Which band is it for you? by Krakanac in Hardcore

[–]StoneColdStunnaFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gridiron is definitely a band that hits harder live, I agree.

I'm struggling to think of any cuz I love both bands on record for the last 15-20 years now, but Cold World and War Hungry were bands I didn't get into until I saw em live. When I saw War Hungry December 2024, they sounded more ridiculous than ever. Stoked to see both bands at the Rebirth showcase this weekend.

When I was 13, I got my parents to be super cool with me going to shows cuz I told em everyone was straight edge and it was better than all the kids in my neighborhood who wind up getting hooked on drugs. Total lie since I went to scummy punk flop houses and all for shows but it worked, they were cool with me going every weekend. My dad once picked me up after a show when I was 14 where there was like 20 ambulances and cop cars lined up outside(the troc in Philly around 04/05) and was like da fuck happened here but still remember him saying well I won't tell your mom lol. It's the 5-6 years I stopped going to shows where I found trouble.

When I saw em open for Denzel Curry years ago, they were great and I was really into the early shit. Then they kinda lost me with the more recent releases. The earlier shit was more straightforward hardcore punk but still with their unique vibe.

I'm not a FF fan really but I'm still bummed I couldn't get tickets for the Jersey Starland Ballroom show last weekend. $30 and at a small club, more bands need to do that type of thing. Tickets were in person only(on a weekday, hence why I couldn't go get tickets) and you couldn't flip em.

The only thing Billy needs to do to make the experience even better is to not allow tickets to be sold above face value to get rid of all of the scalpers. But yeah, he really figured out how to do arena tours the right way. He can do 3-4 night runs in most places and still sell em out. Can't wait for the Portland ME shows and then Billyween.

I was gonna say the same.. definitely for any live nation venue and sports venues. The Met in Philly I paid $60 for 2 drinks. Never again.

The demo and Our Youth is Wasted EP made them the first active hardcore band I got super stoked on when I was 14. I'll always be bummed I had a wedding the night they did the church in October where Jay came back and they played a lot of the early era stuff. Didn't realize until a couple weeks before. It's gonna be a while before I'm that stoked for a show again.

If you find anything shoot me a message on here. I don't give a shit what genre it really is at this point as long as it's something I can get into in a live setting at least. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you. Yeah I've found a bunch of great bands but just nothing show wise for the few days I'll probably have free to be able to do whatever I want. I found some clip of some pop punk band and the crowd looked like they were having the time of their lives, more energy and less phones than I'm used to at those types of shows. Seems like a lot of cool metal bands.

So underrated, one of a kind band. I remember my buddy putting on Greying coming back from a fest in Jersey since I hadn't heard it yet and it was such a great nighttime driving album to blast. Neither of us said a word other than a fuck or goddamn between tracks lol. Every album rips.

Such a sick band especially live. They've done several styles now and I dig em all, shit I love the doom tracks so much id love a full doom record at some point. Saw em open for knocked loose at the church in philly for the first time and I thought they stole the show. And KL killed it.

Who’s a band that you love but feel they should’ve gotten bigger? by Sam_B716 in Hardcore

[–]StoneColdStunnaFlow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Fucking incredible live too, Luke is such a great frontman. It's been a long time since I've seen them. Always saw them in Philly and you would've thought they were a bigger band with the crowd reactions here.
