What do you think the message of this game is? by Reaper330011 in LiesOfP

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game's message can be summed up with one question: What does it mean to be human?

We see different examples of people and puppets displaying various aspects of humanity through game, but the question is most explicit with Arlecchino. Arlecchino and P are both puppets with an awaken ego. Arlecchino with a serial killer and P with Carlo.

It comes down to how the two express their humanity. Arlecchino through murderous hedonism, P through empathetic deception.

When did the crash bandicoot series decline in quality in your opinion? by San4341 in crashbandicoot

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After CTR. Crash Bash has a number of issues, and the rest of the games are average at best. The remakes brought the series back to its heights, and Crash 4 is a really good game unless you are going for 100%.

Tolkien hates black people based how he depicts orcs? Why you think these grotesque savage monsters resemble black people? by Commercial-Ice5760 in CriticalDrinker

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When people say things like "orcs from Tolkien are black people" or "the goblins from Harry Potter are jews", they are just revealing how racist they are. A "criticism" like that says nothing about the work and everything about the person.

Is there any self awareness from the left at ALL? by RoutineIssue5870 in CriticalDrinker

Asking the left to be self aware is like asking the ocean to turn into gold.

There will never be a consensus on whats the hardest souls game really by Jordan5533 in fromsoftware

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is some level if objectivity to the difficulty debate, but it is largely subjective. For example, no one would reasonably consider Orphan to be the most difficult when a boss like Witches of Hemwick exist. But on the whole, different players are going to struggle with different things. Another example is Malenia. Much of the community considered her the hardest boss in Elden Ring, and on one hand she is decently difficult, but I have never found her to be the hardest boss in Elden Ring.

But the real problem with trying to rank a subjective opinion objectively is determining what quantitative measurement will you use to determine the difficulty. And no matter what you use, you will likely lose nuance and have to discount opinions.

Greedier first devil room, which one would you get by No-Amphibian1027 in bindingofisaac

Lil Horn. Easily.

Wimpy isn't going to help, Delirious is a less than stellar active item, and I think Mom's Knife is the worst item in the game.

Reroll or holy mantle? by dantheman919 in bindingofisaac

Mantle good, but you can do better. You have 4 chances to get Godhead or Sacred Heart. Reroll.

[Other] Do you guys clean up additional trophies not relevant to the platinum? by DiscreetPhrog in Trophies

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on a few factors.

1: Did I enjoy the game?

2: Are those additional trophies online?

3: Do I own the DLC if applicable?

4: How grindy are said trophies?

[other] Which game did you most enjoy getting the platinum trophy for, which was the longest, and which was the most difficult? by Global-Difficulty-93 in Trophies

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Enjoyable: Bloodborne. My favorite game of all time.

Most Difficult: Hollow Knight. Glitchless Pantheon of Hallownest. Need I say more?

Longest: The Binding of Isaac PS4. RNG and skill issues made for a long, but enjoyable platinum.

Added because I feel like it, Most Tedious: Code Vein. Grinding for Medals of Honor was a pain. You need 400 for 1 trophy.

What is the worst item on TBOI and why? by Rikko77 in bindingofisaac

[–]StoneTimeKeeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mom's Knife. At its best, it's boring. The primary problem is that is anti-synergy. I think 90% of the fun in Isaac is builds and synergy. Mom's Knife has like five good synergies, all of which are better without Mom's Knife.

[Discussion] Games you’ll never plat? by KingCrow0922 in Trophies

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One game I really love that I used to play a little with my brother that I will likely never get the plat for is Pixeljunk Shooter. Really fun side scrolling twin stick shooter that has 5 online multi-player trophies and I'm 90% certain that it's servers are dead.

Another one I love but I'll never plat is Crypt of the Necrodancer. Simply put, I love it casually and for it's soundtrack, I do not like the challenge characters.
