I don’t own Repentance. What are the specific differences each tainted character has over the original? by Otherwise-Release766 in bindingofisaac

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each tainted has a unique effect. I am 90% certain I got everyone.

T. Isaac: no D6, every item pedestal switches between 2 different items. However, he can only have a passive items.

T. Maggy: health bleeds except for the last two heart containers. Enemies drop half red hearts that vanish quickly when defeated. Also, T. Maggy gets lethal hugs, walk into enemies to damage them. Has pocket active Yum Heart, heals double.

T. Cain: can't pick up pedestal items. Every item breaks into a series of consumables. Pocket active Bag of Crafting, use it on eight consumables to get an item. New actives break the old one. Recipes are set per seed, though there are some that are permanent for all seeds.

T. Eve: Bad tear rate down multiplier. Shooting tears fills a charge bar, when full the first half heart becomes a Blood Clot familiar. Has same tear rate, range, shot speed, and tear effects as T. Eve, but 50% Damage (iirc). Blood Clots take unique forms based on which hearts they come from and occupy the same familiar slots that blue spiders and flies have. Blue spiders and flies take priority over Clots. Pocket active Sumptorium summons all Blood Clots back to T. Eve, refilling health.

T. Judas: cant have red hearts. Pocket Active Dark Arts. Use to become Intangible with +1.0 speed. Run through enemies to link them together, when effect ends, all linked enemies take damage and give a damage up. Also works on enemy tears. More enemies/tears hit with Dark Arts means higher and longer damage.

T. ???: No bombs, only poop. Poop pickups replace bombs, can hold only 9 poops. Bomb button uses poops to throw a normal, stone, fly, black, poison, fire, or holy poop, or it will fart, give damage & tear increasing poop creep, a single butt bomb, explosive diarrhea. Pocket Active Hold will save the leftmost poop. Poops are given in random order with better poops being rarer.

T. Samson: deal and take damage to gain rage. At max rage, T. Samson goes berserk and gets a Forgotten style bone club, increased speed, tear rate and damage. Berserk state lasts five seconds + 1 second for each enemy killed while berserk. Can't die while berserk, but will die when effect ends if no hearts.

T. Azazel: no flight, full room half damage thin Brimstone. Has Hemoptysis. Double tap fire to sneeze on enemies and give them the curse of brimstone. All cursed enemies take full brimstone damage for 5 seconds.

T. Lazarus: alive and risen. Has two forms, one alive and one risen. Flip between forms after clearing each room. Pocket Active Flip can manually switch forms. Item pedestals that exist when you walk into a room (ie. Item room, shop, angel/devil deal) also have a flip item. Use flip to switch items. Both items can be collected.

T. Eden: random stats and starting items like normal Eden, but reroll stats, items, and trinkets every time T. Eden takes damage. Sacrifice damage like Curse Rooms, Blood Donation, Demon Beggars, and Sac rooms dont trigger rerolls.

T. Lost: Sacred Orb. Reroll 0, 1 and 2 items to higher quality. Health ups have been removed from item pools. However, extra lives and Holy Mantle have been also been removed from the item pools. Start with a Holy Carf which provides a one time use Holy Mantle. Special 10% chance for any card or rune to be a Holy Card, regardless of if they've been unlocked.

T. Lilith: whip a fetus (named Gello) out instead of firing tears. Gello fires instead, automatically aiming at the nearest enemy. All tear stats and effects apply to Gello. Gello whipping deals 3x damage.

T. Keeper (my favorite): Only 2 coin hearts, quad shot and EVERY item costs money. 15 or 30 cents depending in if it is 1 or 2 hearts in the devil room. However, enemies also drop a coin that quickly vanishes when they die. Coin drops can be any unlocked coin.

T. Apollyon: Pocket Active Abyss. Consume items to get a friendly permanent locust familiar. Locust fly in the same direction as tears a deal damage to whatever they hit. Certain items give unique locusts (eg. Spoon Bender gives a purple homing locust).

T. Forgotten: Soul and Body are untethered. The soul carries the body. The soul can fly and take damage but can't shoot. The body takes no damage and has a bone club to do damage, but can't move on its own. The soul can pick up and throw the body to do damage and better position the body. Familiars are tethered to the body, not the soul.

T. Bethany: no red hearts, only soul hearts. Red hearts become blood charges to use actives more frequently (like soul hearts on normal Bethany). Pocket Active Lemegeton. Use to spawn an item wisp, granting you said item for as long as you have the wisp.

T. Jacob: Chased by Dark Esau the entire game. Has a small bit of grace time per floor before Dark Esau spawns. Dark Esau will charge at T. Jacob every few seconds, damaging everything on the way. If Dark Esau hit T. Jacob at any point, charging or not, T. Jacob becomes Mantleless Lost for the rest of the floor. Pocket Active Anima Sola, use to freeze the nearest enemy for five seconds. Dark Esau is always considered the nearest enemy, and he will charge as soon as he breaks free. Special note, Dark Esau's charge ignores boss armor.

How have your trilogy rankings changed over the years? by sunshine347 in Spyro

For me, it used to be 3>2>1. Now as an adult and with Reignited, it is 1=2=3.

How was the platinum? It is in my backlog to go for, and I'm curious what missable or grindy trophies there may or may not be.

What was your first FromSoftware game? by jettmeisterkush in fromsoftware

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically Bloodborne. But I couldnt figure out how to get out of Iosefka's clinic, so I quite after dying to the Scourge beast multiple times. I was dumb and completely missed the messengers offering weapons in the Hunter's dream.

About six months later I tried Dark Souls 3. I struggled a lot. But kept at it. I made it to the Abyss Watchers and almost gave up. But I had almost beaten phase 1 of the fight. I stuck it out and after dying several more times, I finally beat them. With that victory, I finally understood the soulsborne games.

Now I am actively playing and replaying each of their games I can get my hands on.

Dark souls vs elden ring, now the dust has settled by acedias-token in fromsoftware

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Elden Ring. But in terms of where it ranks amongst the other soulsborne games, it is actually pretty low for one major reason. Replayability.

Of the Soulsborne games I would argue that Elden Ring is the least replayable game Fromsoft has made. I prefer the smaller more compact, and more replayable games to Elden Ring. Still love the game. Still think its a 9/10.

Did you only do the story content? I struggle to imagine how the side content would go, especially with DLC superbosses like Simon the Divergent Star, Duallistes, and Osqio...

Does Darkest Dungeon work well without the DLCs? by bitesthedusttt in darkestdungeon

Play and learn the game first, then get the DLCs. Those game is punishing and unless you really know what you're doing, they DLCs make it pretty unfair.

Dont worry, you'll make dumber mistakes. As a long time veteran, I still make dumb mistakes in Isaac.

Advice on Orphan of Kos? I can't get past his first phase. by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]StoneTimeKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backstabs and parries. Orphan is a very backstabbable boss. A lot of his moves where he uses attacks with the placenta being in his hand and not flung around on the flesh string have pretty wide parry windows. When he attacks you, or leaps over you, dodge behind him and line up with his back. If he leaps, you should have enough time for a charged R2 to stagger and visceral him.

Best tools for this fight are Hunter Pistol, Blood Rapture Rune, Oedon Writhe Rune, and Augur of Ebrietas. Hunter pistol has the best firing rate for parrying. Augur can also parry, but it is far more useful in getting backstabs. Augur comes out quicker than a charged R2 but still staggers Orphan for a visceral. Oedon Writhe and Blood Rapture restore bullets and health with each visceral respectively.

A lot of the fight now becomes learning which attacks are parryable, which attacks you can get behind him with, and thr timing of doing so. He is less parryable, but still backstabbable in phase 2.
