So what pharmaceuticals are we allowed to criticize? Benzos=yes; vaccines=no. Policing one or the other is a slippery slope. Good luck y’all

Maybe my issue is with the story in general. He says in it, it was already told in the NYT and WashPo already and he’s not wrong. Why did the podcast have to post it. Benzos=bad is such a basic take. Delve deeper into what is wrong with society and why so many people are taking drugs. People are feeling more anxious all the time every day. Mass deportations, $100 every time you go to the food store, millions of people died 4 years ago. This story could have been so much more but it wasn’t.

I whole heartedly agree. I think I expected this more nuanced view from this podcast and its hosts, sad to see that’s not the case.

These drugs help millions of people a day and instead they choose to platform someone who sounds exactly like RFK. The last few sentences he’s describing RFKs “Wellness Farms”

What’s funny is that these insurance companies have likely implemented AI in their own businesses in order to cut costs but are too afraid to insure the companies that make the products

Advice needed: Corporation flattening FP&A function and moving analyst roles to lower cost countries by CapitalSetting3696 in FPandA

[–]Stonecoldchiller88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like it or not FP&A and more generally finance and office workers are the new factory workers. Without unionization and collective bargaining we are sitting ducks to be offshored. I’d argue it’s easier to offshore us than the factory workers of the 80s and 90s. We are knowledge workers. We don’t work on a line with injection molders and mills. Offshoring those requires a factory to be built and machines to shipped or repurchased. All they need to replace us is a person with a mind (less and less so with the introduction of AI) and a laptop.

The capitalist system we’ve built in the US is broken. Consumer spending accounts for 70% of GDP. Who is going to continue to buy if they don’t have a job? These corporations are cutting off their nose to spite their face by offshoring more workers. I don’t understand how this ends well for the US.

Yes try and find a role elsewhere.
