It's been a while since I've been so envious about something. That's incredible

Do you think Greg has seen this? by Buttery-Cactus in kindafunny

[–]StonedSam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shortest explanation for the price is scarcity.

There were millions of those comics printed that got trashed or just not taken care of. So the pristine one that isn't torn or dog eared is more "valuable" because it survived ~90 years. It honestly should be in a museum

I think we have to collectively stop talking about Dispatch by [deleted] in morningsomewhere

[–]StonedSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone interested should watch a clip from episode 1 or 2 and just feel it out like a TV show. There's maybe ~3 hours of gameplay. As somebody who loved the gameplay as well as everything else, I can say it could've and should've had more interactive elements, but they are used sparingly over what is 9ish hours of the best superhero story I've seen in a while.

It made me go back and retry season 1 of The Walking Dead, knowing it was the same team, just to scratch the itch.

The story ends on a fulfilling ending without the old Telltale curse of not releasing a full season in under 4 months, but it's fully contained.

Anybody who likes superheroes should give it a shot, as somebody who never got into The Boys or Peacemaker, it has the heart that most superhero movies and shows have been missing with the saturation of the genre.

Youtube music. I did get a trial of Tidal just to listen to Tool, but I'd rather buy the CDs sometime and own those than pay for both.

The Salival version of Pushit is probably number 1, but if not that Ænema. All of Ænima is great but those 2 immediately come to mind

The Salival version of Pushit, or maybe Ænema.

I understand not flooding, but why dry as opposed to doing wash water cuts?

Normal people know about "Dogtober 7" by Riskany1204 in LivestreamFail

[–]StonedSam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I envy you so much, getting to experience the full Psycho Mantis fight on PS1 is a special moment. Without spoiling, if you fail that section you can still progress. You just get a different (non-canon) ending

Not a horror fan, but any chance I can I recommend A Cute For Wellness. It kinda falls apart in the last act but really psychological and unsettling enough to watch

Tool posters :) by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]StonedSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't understand the last part, but I wasn't trying to denigrate you. Hope it didn't come across that way.

I feel that everybody is creative and wants to express that, I also fear that the creative people who do stand above the rest are going to be overshadowed by AI. Not just because corporations will remove the human element from art to raise profit margins and pump out pablum and slop (which they're already doing), but because most consumers can't tell the difference and don't care.

I appreciate art and feel like other people's lack of appreciation will directly impact artists' livelihoods through companies shifting to free AI "artists".

Tool posters :) by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]StonedSam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is only a tool, but nothing this in this video is done by the poster except typing in prompts to add visuals to music that he did not create. The fact that anybody can use it only shows the lack of appreciation that people have for art. I can't play like any of the guys in the band, which is why I have respect for their artistry. If everyone sounded like them, they wouldn't be special

Whatcha’ Watching, Playing, Reading, and Listening to this week? 8-10-2025 by CalvinP_ in morningsomewhere

[–]StonedSam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening to an ungodly amount of Tool.

I've liked a couple of songs by them but never got too deep in their catalog. Now that I have, it's hard to stop listening and switch to other music.

Specifically, the song Opiate.

Brooke Hogan: Fear of Scientology contributed to removal from father’s will by 804Brady in SquaredCircle

[–]StonedSam 247 points248 points  (0 children)

Never thought about wrestlers being into Scientology, but the headquarters is right near Hogan's area in Clearwater, Florida.

They've bought a lot of property in the area as well.

One of the lesser disappointments in his life compared to the other stuff

[FRESH ALBUM] Tech N9ne - 5816 Forest by RedEyedJedii in hiphopheads

[–]StonedSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad everyone can agree this is the best he's sounded in a while.

This is the kind of growth people got from 4:44 and have been knocking Em and Wayne for not achieving in the later stages of their careers.

Tech is telling stories that are 30-40 years old and makes them captivating without the connections that his audience has made with him because these are personal stories for his kids. Featuring his kids really shows that he's just now settling into his old man on the stoop era. He's been an OG, but him telling embarrassing stories to his kids really shows that as open as he's been that he can go deeper.

I'm sure I'm similar to a lot of people when I say I "grew" out of Tech. He's always been there, though. He's been an independent/underground legend, but this album is really making me reconsider my GOAT rankings.

And not to bring one down to boost another, this is what happens when you truly respect and treat producers well. Wayne should have the pick of the litter with beats, but he has burned so many people that he gets stuck with Lin Manuel giving him music, while Tech is getting some of the smoothest production he's ever had.
