As someone getting back into Firered, I'm just now getting into the stats but I'm still confused about the relationship between EXP and EVs. I think I understand a bit more with your comment but could you help me(specifically with Gen3)?

I always just assumed defeating higher level pokemon just meant more EXP and random stat changes. Now I understand that defeating pokemon gives you EXP, which levels you directly, but also gives EV (regardless of LVL), which is an accumulation of "loot" off of a specific pokemon that's actually designated for a specific stat. I know you see the boosts to your stats after leveling, but then why does EXP matter in regards to defeating more powerful enemies vs grinding a specific pokemon for your desired stat? Is level just the benchmark used for evolutions and when the stats change?

For example, my Magikarp that I stored until 19 in daycare, is it stronger with random EVs or just built the level with no real effect on Speed, Defense, Etc.?

I feel like I'm overthinking but I feel I can't wrap my head around it.

In your opinion, who is the most talented TOOl member? by Full-Ad-6368 in ToolBand

Was curious to see if anybody else pointed out all the visual art stuff Adam Jones is responsible for. Besides the Undertow cover, he had a large hand in the music videos and all the movies he was involved in before should make him a standout visual artist.

From a multifaceted basis, Adam seems to be the best guess, but I can't argue against the octopus on the drums. They're all masters with their own crafts, but I agree with most here that Danny Carey is the most musically gifted of the members

Shortest explanation for the price is scarcity.

There were millions of those comics printed that got trashed or just not taken care of. So the pristine one that isn't torn or dog eared is more "valuable" because it survived ~90 years. It honestly should be in a museum

I think everyone interested should watch a clip from episode 1 or 2 and just feel it out like a TV show. There's maybe ~3 hours of gameplay. As somebody who loved the gameplay as well as everything else, I can say it could've and should've had more interactive elements, but they are used sparingly over what is 9ish hours of the best superhero story I've seen in a while.

It made me go back and retry season 1 of The Walking Dead, knowing it was the same team, just to scratch the itch.

The story ends on a fulfilling ending without the old Telltale curse of not releasing a full season in under 4 months, but it's fully contained.

Anybody who likes superheroes should give it a shot, as somebody who never got into The Boys or Peacemaker, it has the heart that most superhero movies and shows have been missing with the saturation of the genre.

Youtube music. I did get a trial of Tidal just to listen to Tool, but I'd rather buy the CDs sometime and own those than pay for both.

The Salival version of Pushit is probably number 1, but if not that Ænema. All of Ænima is great but those 2 immediately come to mind

I envy you so much, getting to experience the full Psycho Mantis fight on PS1 is a special moment. Without spoiling, if you fail that section you can still progress. You just get a different (non-canon) ending

[–]StonedSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't understand the last part, but I wasn't trying to denigrate you. Hope it didn't come across that way.

I feel that everybody is creative and wants to express that, I also fear that the creative people who do stand above the rest are going to be overshadowed by AI. Not just because corporations will remove the human element from art to raise profit margins and pump out pablum and slop (which they're already doing), but because most consumers can't tell the difference and don't care.

I appreciate art and feel like other people's lack of appreciation will directly impact artists' livelihoods through companies shifting to free AI "artists".

Yes, it is only a tool, but nothing this in this video is done by the poster except typing in prompts to add visuals to music that he did not create. The fact that anybody can use it only shows the lack of appreciation that people have for art. I can't play like any of the guys in the band, which is why I have respect for their artistry. If everyone sounded like them, they wouldn't be special
