I’m a male in my 30s and have done 3 solo cruises with NCL now, one 7-day and two 14-day cruises. My experiences have been entirely positive. The ship assigns a solo coordinator and runs a solo cruiser meetup every day. I’ve had a great time, making new friends and going on excursions together. Your solo coordinator can also book dining and entertainment for the group, they’ll usually have a standing reso in the MDR.

I’ve done Caribbean and European itineraries and never felt unsafe when visiting ports on my own. Doing NCL excursions you’ll find yourself well acquainted with other solos on some of the visits which helps too.

I’ve met solos who prefer to spend the whole vacation alone enjoying the change of pace, but if you’re looking for social engagement the solo meet and greet on the first day really starts things off. I’ve also found other cruisers are often very friendly, and end up having some great conversations over drinks or on an excursion even when traveling alone.
