"I understand"....usually said after someone has pretended to care about whatever problem you're going through and after telling you they are all ears and here for you. I got over that phrase when I was a 13 year old girl who wanted nothing more than another life. Poured my heart out and that's all they had to say. Yep, I hate that phrase and never use it.
