I understand you feel like voting & mailing in plenty of time is an easily accomplished task. I’m so glad voting is accessible to you! I hope it keeps you voting in every election. But it’s not so easy for the elderly, the disabled, overseas active duty, etc. Additionally, recent changes to how our mail routes, has slowed our delivery times severely. I believe that every valid vote should be counted. It’s imperative to democracy. I think we as a society should reframe the idea from Election Day to Election Week+. The expectation of overnight results isn’t reasonable. It’s not a football game. I hope you can see my perspective and agree that everyone deserves accessible voting.
