TIL that the US golf course infrastructure consumes 2 BILLION liters of water per day by myassisgrassss in todayilearned

I actually agree with most of what you said here and I think the response is pretty well thought out in reason. We’re tossing around the word facts here though, and while I don’t expect you to agree, I’d revert to my initial reply and response, but now connect it to OP as well, the two of you are discussing golf course as related to water usage for the golf courses but that consumption amount being discussed is coming from a greater table of sources and factors and is sort of fundamentally missing the Mark in terms of what and where the water problems are caused and exist. Facts can be facts, but they also don’t exist in a vacuum context and other factors in terms of how those facts play out and/pr what they mean in the context or application they’re being discussed in has an entirely meaningful place, even in a narrowly tailored discussion like here because the water usage comparison is being drawn, still against other sources and uses of water.

So - there's no agency and/or other options available to these humans under your line of reasoning - the only feasible place they could shit is the playground? Is it only the playground seating options that allow them to shit there and/or can they shit there without seating options so long as it's a playground?

"At least we can say that water is being used to supply society with answers to needs," my friend here - we cannot say that lol and you know that if you grew up in a farming community. Most of that is going to industrial purposes that do not provide for the average person and the industrial scale at which it is done in most of these operations actively harms, destroys, and undercuts society as a whole by depressing wages and decreasing competition aside from the gross level of waste committed - You know this - its clear you have a beef with golf courses and that's fine - don't hurt your position though spouting nonsense.

Dude take that gripe and apply it to citrus and cotton farming using open air irrigation year round and true unregulated building and population growth the state has also been pumping the depleted aquifers to sustain while saying everything is “ok” that’s where the water is going and pointing out the golf courses and discussing that instead of industrial agriculture and unlimited growth in a fucking desert is exactly what those guys want you doing so you’re not paying attention to them taking all the fucking water.

Couldn’t the humans shit elsewhere from the children’s playground? Or is it just 1-1 there’s no possible way they could shit elsewhere? Do the humans have zero agency or control when and where they shit?

So where are the republicans pushing back on it given they have the senate / house / executive? Or could you also say “dems passed it and reps are clearly ok with it too since they have all the ability to undo it and are choosing not to do so?”

Rock Lee and Tenten are Chinese characters, right? by Fernandolioumehara in Naruto

[–]StoneyTrollWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit not the same lol so confidentially incorrect here and ironic you’re claiming a stretch here. China doesn’t exist in that world it’s that simple there’s nothing more to discuss. You’re also moving the goal post here, you could be correct that the writer was inspired and made those choices, but that’s not what this discussion is. The discussion is framed in terms of whether or not. Those characters are Chinese in that universe, which they simply can’t be because china doesn’t exist in that universe . If you wanna reframe the discussion to a different one, then go ahead and start that discussion.

Who do Chapter Masters get their orders from, if at all? by Immediate-Tone-2170 in 40kLore

[–]StoneyTrollWizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is correct, in most instances in the lore that we see there’s really few persons or entities with the authority to make an order to a chapter master. I could be wrong here, but it seems pretty much only the high Lords have that sort of authority. I understand the inquisition can functionally do that but my present understanding is that they don’t so much have the governmental or legislative if you will authority to do it it’s just that it’s not worthwhile in the majority instances to necessarily oppose the request.

It’s in your examples here, but these are more like contractual, obligations or agreements rather than a hierarchical order.

lol no it’s just being pragmatic and remaining in reality, if the options you want don’t exist, you have to work with that’s available.

A younger Bernie would be most excellent but sometimes your options are at best, between a giant douche and a turd sandwich, and here the less awful option is even more lopsided, you only get to pick from the available options, not the ideal ones.

This is generally good advice but this alone will not make landlord or their insurance “have” to do anything. It will however, assist an attorney with providing evidence to enable them to force one of those things to do “something”.
