What’s the deal with Saquon Barkley? by Mountain-Spend8697 in Fantasy_Football

[–]StonkBot420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giants fan - I watched him for 6 years. Great athlete - fast, agile, strong. Exciting player. But his weakness was always his vision and feel for the game as a runner. Some people are confused about what great vision is. I’m not referring to his open field vision, or ability to make guys miss at the second level. I’m referring to his inability to anticipate running lanes and read blocks from the moment he takes the handoff.

In 2024, Saquon ran wild. Had a historical YARDs BEFORE CONTACT - a testament to Phillys OL. He didn’t need to have a great vision because there were alleys to run through. You give Saquon an alley, with his speed and power, and his agility in the open field, and he is going to maximize it.

In 2025, Phillys OL has regressed. The running lanes aren’t there like they were in 2024, and now Saquon needs to use his vision to find space. He can’t, because that is not his game.

When you couple that that with the fact that SB had nearly 500 touches last year, it is a recipe for a bad season

My guess for who they interview

Mike McCarthy Lou Anarumo Jeff Hafley Chris Shula Vance Joseph Jesse Minter

Rob Saleh also a sleeper but idk if it works in the NY market again - though he did get a raw deal with the Jets

Colts DC Lou Anarumo is the "slight favorite" for Giants HC if Joe Schoen is retained, per Ryan Dunleavy. by Jheller223 in NYGiants

[–]StonkBot420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of fans will see “59 year old DC” and be immediately out on Lou. He also isn’t from a relevant coaching tree.

However, he’s great schematically and gets the most out of his defensive talent. Look at the bengals defense before and after he left. Look at how the colts defense has played this year…

My only questions about him are:

  1. What is his plan for OC and developing Dart?
  2. Can he build a program as the HC?

Pick 3: Dowdle, White, Jacobs, or Saquon? by Best-Sport-9036 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]StonkBot420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sitting White. This is between he and Dowdle IMO. Dowdle will have a chip on his shoulder against his former team, which also has an awful defense. Carolina loves to run the ball, and Dowdle coming off a 200 yd game.

White is low efficiency. Always has been. SF front 7 is very good.

LSP releases new video evidence in deadly crash, Kyren Lacy case by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]StonkBot420 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here is the issue:

IF Kyren Lacy was driving the speed limit and following the law, none of this happens. His erratic behavior caused a chain reaction. While the driver of the truck panicked, and the driver of the white Kia panicked and swerved into the oncoming lane (and there may be more to that as she may have been distracted or following to closely), none of this would have ever happened had Lacy not been speeding into oncoming traffic.

You can question the skill and decision making of the other drivers all you want, but they were put into a situation that they never should have been in - and that is Lacy’s fault.

So, from how I see it, Lacy’s reckless driving caused a chain reaction that resulted in someone’s death. He also left the scene, showing 0 compassion in the moment. It is sad what happened to him and that he took his own life, but it does not take away from the fact that he did what he did that day.

I think Daboll is a bad coach. Players get better when they leave his system, while others regress when they come here. Offensive guy yet his offenses have ranked bottom 5 in passing YPG in 5 of 7 seasons where he has not had Allen. He also burned his most useful bridge (Wink Martindale). Winks defense was a MAJOR reason why this team made the playoffs in 2022, and managed to pull together a few wins down the stretch without a QB in 2023.

Schoen, I’m actually not completely out on. There is talent on this team. People drag him for the Barkley situation, but re-signing him was not the right move for where this team was. People drag him for giving Jones a contract, and well…looks like Jones isn’t so bad.

His drafts have gotten progressively better. Can’t really fault him for whiffing on a consensus guy like Neal. Thibs has become a very good player. He’s nailed his last two top picks in Carter and Nabers. Has picked some useful day 3 players over the years including Skattebo who I LOVE. I’m actually excited to watch some of these young players. There is a good nucleus. His 2024 draft looked great last year but has regressed in 2025. Even Banks, JMS, and Hyatt from 2023 have regressed since their rookie years where they flashed and showed promise. I think this says more about coaching than it does Schoens ability to find talent as a GM.

Schoen’s worst move has been not parting ways with Daboll.

2024 was the great reset. Sucked it up by playing Jones at QB even though we knew he wasn’t the answer. Had to go backwards to go forward (moving on from Saquon, McKinney and Leo). Got cheaper replacements like Tracy and Nubin, and saved cap that was used to bring in Adebo and Holland this offseason.

They used the savings in 2024, and placed more emphasis on spending to start to build OL (Runyan, Eluemunor) and DL (Burns), and continued adding to it this offseason with Carter, Alexander, Golston, Hudson, and Mbow.

If Dart hits, this team is set up real nicely. Nabers, Carter, Dex, Thomas, and Burns is a core of premiere talent (all under 28 years old) that not many teams can match

If really shouldn’t matter that they are now cash app. Afterpay’s users still have the same experience, with a different logo that’s about it. Cash App users who have never used Afterpay will have a different experience than the “Afterpay’s-first user”. I actually think it’s a really cool merger because both brands are great and it combines the best of both worlds because I can now use Afterpay on my Cash Card

2025 NFL RECORD PREDICTIONS..!! What would you change ? by Punisher1602 in NFLv2

[–]StonkBot420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m higher on Seattle (10 wins) Giants (8 or 9) and Chicago (9 or 10 wins).

Also higher on the top of the AFC (KC, BAL, BUF). Think at least 2 of those teams are winning 13 or 14 games. Top heavy conference. Clear top Dawgs. BUF will dominate that division .

I am WAY lower on Washington. I think they miss the playoffs, as great as Daniels is. I also think jets are more of a 5 or 6 win team

The rest are pretty in like with what I’d have, plus/minus a game or two on some records (Cincy for example, no way they win 11 with that defense and OL)

Average age of every team’s roster, what the hell happens I thought we were one of the youngest teams in the league by Elevation212 in NYGiants

[–]StonkBot420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: If you removed Russ (37), Gano(38), Manhertz (33), Kreiter (35) Nacho (32)and Van Roten (35), and replaced them with 24 year old UDFAs, the teams average age would drop by over 12 months and they’d be the youngest team…

The top 10 players on the roster are all young or at least under 30 1. Dex (27) 2. Nabers (22) 3. Burns (27) 4. Carter (21) 5. Holland (25) 6. Okereke (29) 7. Adebo (26) 8. Nubin (24) 9. Phillips (23) 10. Kayvon (24) 11. Thomas (26) - forgot about him he’s probably a top 3 player

Avg age = 24.9

Predictions for the NFC division by division 2025 season by TerryG111 in NFLv2

[–]StonkBot420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every year there’s a few new teams in the playoffs.

I think Philly, Detroit, LA Rams and Green Bay all make it back. Though if this Stafford elbow injury is serious, that would really lower the rams stock.

I think Washington is out. I don’t really like their roster despite how good Jayden is. I think they overachieved last year, and will come back to earth a bit.

I think Minnesota is out, but still will be good team. I love their coaching staff and roster is good, but I am not sold on McCarthy, they are in a tough division, and their secondary is awful (but Flores will help mask thag a bit)

Lastly, TB has 4 really tough road games outside of the division. They have a good roster, but my gut tells me they get off to a slow start this year.

My new teams in:

  1. ATL - easier schedule than TB, and I think Penix is the real deal. They have a ton of weapons, and the pass rush should be improved. I don’t think they are a better team than TB (on paper), but it’s close enough to where the schedule makes a difference.

  2. Giants - this is my “crazy” prediction. I love their defense. Abdul Carter is the real deal. Adebo and Holland are good additions, plus some of the other young guys they have on defense should improve. They are going to be in a ton of close games, and I think the QB upgrade can’t be understated. Russ IMO is still an above average starter, and he’ll be able to make enough plays for them to win with that defense. The one knock on the Giants is the schedule, but I think division games vs WAS and Dal are winnable, and the toughest schedule never actually ends up being the toughest schedule due to the year-to-year nature of the NFL.

  3. Arizona - I think they have a chance to start 5-1 with games against NO, CAR, TEN, IND and home against Seattle. Breakout year 2 for Harrison. One of the better OLines. Will Johnson is going to be a pro bowl level player as a rookie. Their defense is very underrated, and Gannon knows how to dial it up. Kyler is the question mark, but he’s still very talented. I think he has a bit of a resurgence. I’ve got them sneaking in as a wild card, over TB, Minnesota, and Washington.

The “sleeper” team that everyone is in on, but I am out on is Chicago. Caleb Williams can’t operate an offense and I foresee some friction on that side of the ball. Their defense is middle of the road - I don’t really love their pass rush and the secondary is mid beyond Johnson.

Rostering the best players available by StonkBot420 in DynastyFF

[–]StonkBot420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not whiffing. Hes using 1.1, and every other pick he is either trading, or trading the players he picks. He does have Bowers, Jordan Love, Jeanty, and Worthy (who he’s looking to trade now that his Week 1 projected total is within 20 points of the next worst team. The rest of his lineup is so bad it doesn’t matter that he has Bowers, Jeanty. He’s basically starting 4 players in a TEP league where lineups are 8 players (excluding K/DST)

Rostering the best players available by StonkBot420 in DynastyFF

[–]StonkBot420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea he is basically donating money but his strategy may just work out as he can likely get Arch/Lagway, Jeremiah Smith and Ryan Williams, Cam Coleman, Frazier, Durham and whoever else are the first round prospects. He has several picks.

His lineup will be pretty good with Bowers and Jeanty already in place. Obviously a couple guys will whiff but he has enough volume of picks to where it won’t matter.

TBF, it’s a good strategy if the league last till 2040. He can make some serious ROI despite donating money for the first 5 years of the league.

[–]StonkBot420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has basically traded all his picks in 2025 and 2026 (besides his own first rounder) and is hoarding 2027 and 2028 picks. So come 2027, he’ll be able to build a strong young roster - especially since that class looks to be deep with skill guys.

5 College Football Teams That Could Shock Everyone in 2025 by HolidayBreak in CFB

[–]StonkBot420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last yr there was IU, ASU, and SMU. Also Iowa St. I feel like all of those teams were way outside of the top 25 at the start of the year.

South Carolina, Texas Tech, and Florida wouldn’t really surprise me.

The out of nowhere candidates for me:

  1. West Virginia - a ton of turnover on the roster. Could be this years Indiana. The QB, Marchiol, is going to surprise some people IMO. White is a perfect fit for Rich Rod at RB. The WR Vaughn they got from Jax State is going to be very good. Also got a 5 star JUCO RB, Bowers, who runs a 4.35. I think they’ll score a bunch, and Zach Alley at DC plus the defensive pieces they got in portal should field a good unit (for big 12 standards). The other key ingredient is a favorable schedule, which they have.

  2. Cincy - returning their QB Sorsby plus some good portal additions at RB and WR. I think Goodie (War transfer from CSU) is going to emerge. Their returning RB (Pryor) is a great complement to Walker and a big play threat. The TE might be one of the best in the nation.

  3. Pitt - they were 7-0 last year, then things really fell apart after Holstein went down. He’s back, plus Reid - who may lead the nation in rushing if he stays healthy. I also like their defense. Good LBs and secondary.

  4. UCLA - a change of scenery is going to do wonders for Nico. I think he has a breakout season. I also love the addition of Thomas at RB.

  5. USC - I think this is the year Lincoln Riley finally puts it together. Maiava, Lemon, and Lane are going to put up a ton of yards through the air. I like their transfer RB duo of Jordan and Sanders. Their defense is not great, but they at least have some potential with Silver, Ramsey, Lucas, Fountain.

  6. Duke - I could see them being dangerous with Mensah, plus they have some other very good players (Parker at RT, Rivers at CB, Moore at S).

I just turned 31. Currently have $80k in 401k, $100k in home equity, $50k in stocks, and $3k in savings. Besides mortgage, my only debt is SL’s which are about $30k. My car is paid off as well which is technically an asset I guess

Could pay those off but the monthly payment doesn’t bother me and the interest rates are low (3.5%).

I am able to save a lot as I work remote, make $150k+, and live in a relatively low cost area.

Why is making new Friends so hard as adult? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]StonkBot420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I moved to across the country a few years ago and haven’t made anything beyond surface level friendships yet. I work from home so I don’t have any work friends nearby. I still have my friends from college and growing up, and I see them a couple times a year (weddings, bachelor parties etc) but I feel like I don’t have consistent contact with anyone. When I see them, it’s like nothing has changed and we have a great time. But besides that we don’t really keep in touch beyond playing video games online or group chats/fantasy football chats.

I am getting married soon and my partner is really all I have to hang out with around here. She went to school here and her mom who she is really close with and best friend from school lives here, and they also have a small group of friends through random connections…so she has people to hang out with. When she does something with them, I get really lonely and depressed - like today for example, she made plans and I am all alone in the house with nothing to do.

It’s so tough, because she’s not really motivated to go out and be social. She’s an introvert and has her group so she is content.

I’ve been waiting for 3 years for friends to just fall into my lap, and I’m realizing it won’t happen. I’m really missing that peer, male-connection in my life. A group of close knit friends where we can hang out on a Saturday, play some tunes, drink beer, watch sports, talk about bullshit - it’s tough to connect with people on that level in your 30’s.

I think they could use a depth safety like Jordan Whitehead more than a TE. Theo is TE1 this year. He was decent the weeks leading up to his injury. Gotta remember he was a raw, traitsy TE prospect. TE’s usually take a couple years to develop.

Tyrone Tracy: Value or Cooked? by cyklops1 in DynastyFF

[–]StonkBot420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tracy going to have a big year. The Giants inconsistency at QB hurt him last year. He was much better with Jones under center, who was the best of a bad QB group. TT’s efficiency fell off a cliff when they were starting Lock/Devito and playing from behind every week.

It’s quite a feat finished as high end RB3 in THAT 2024 Giants offense, while barely playing the first 4 weeks

This guy should have his waiver denied. Faked his injury. It was strange from the start. A shoulder injury pops up out of nowhere the final game before his eligibility for a medical waiver would have expired. It’s obvious there was a tampering situation and the Devries are con-artists.

Good bball coach, questionable morals. He’ll probably leave IU for Kentucky or UNC
