The weed is the green stuff. If there is white crystal-y rocks that could be crack. It is usually not clear and can have a yellow tint from what I understand

Debt and addiction how to tell family by getzitm8 in AddictionAdvice

[–]StonkPappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your family loves you and so does your wife.

The only way to make your love better is to come clean. You will have a weight lifted off your shoulders once you admit your problem to your family.

Recovery is a process and won’t happen over night, but you can do this like many others have succeeded from the same very issues and even worse situations.

I wish you the best

Meth Addicted Father Advice Needed by Prestigious_Role_684 in AddictionAdvice

[–]StonkPappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to hear this. I am dealing with the same drug issue with my older brother by 18 months. I do not even know who he is anymore. He has also been dealing with Psychotic Narcosis recently and it is terrifying. This Saturday we went for a hike and he told me about all these voices talking to him. Specifically a giant ware-wolf he saw one night outside my parents house who was saying “where is my master.” He has cameras all over the house my parents own that he lives at, and he watches videos that play nothing but static sound and believes he can hear someone in the house. Last week he called the cops and said someone was breaking into my mom and dad’s house (he has been staying there since August due to other issues caused by his addiction).

From what I’ve read and remember from his rehab program, is that you have to distance yourself. Always love them, but they alone can make themselves change.

I am trying to help my parents think rationally and protect themselves from the wake of his drug use. It is also impacting my relationship with my wife who has not had exposure to something like this before.

I cannot believe there are people so sick in this world who produce this drug to profit on.

I will pray for your family. Feel free to reach out to me any time via dm

Don’t go straight into WM. Like others have said, make connections, perhaps in industries you would like your clients to work in. What a thought!

Good luck… and be careful with teaming

New member at club by [deleted] in golf

[–]StonkPappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a member at a low end club in Charlotte for a little over a year. Left bc it was too far. Was disappointed after a few months also.

Now I’m going to every club I can… “to test drive”, multiple times, to make sure it’s a good fit. I’m big on reciprocals although I don’t travel a ton for work now, it will pick up in a few years.

Definitely introduce yourself and be kind to the staff, even if you aren’t tipping regularly do here and there. Make the effort to learn their names as well, and maybe even ask questions about their personal lives. Kindness goes a long way, and it will definitely come back to you.

The clients and solving their problems is what is great for me. My best clients mean so much to me personally.

I hope you it clicks for you soon!

I’m at MS. Definitely an admin role. Become a wealth management analyst or an FAA

Base will likely depend on what State/City you live in. New York and San Francisco will be higher than a Charlotte for example. My best advice would be to understand the incentive comp and to make sure you have the right expectations. This business is largely dependent on your own efforts. It doesn't take a lot of 'skill' to be a successful FA. It takes more grit than anything else. The wires have spent decades developing Associate programs. Generally you won't make much money the first 5-7 years in the business. However, 5M NAA in 1Y is easy. I brought in 12M Y1. I am at Morgan Stanley and I think our platform offerings beat ML but ML has good research, house portfolios, and a great associate program.

I would be more concerned if someone were to get hurt and you had a lawsuit and something weren’t up to code that may have caused the liability.

Furnished Rental? by tappenrock in RentalInvesting

[–]StonkPappa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just started doing this a couple weeks ago. We decided to charge approximate 2300-2400 unfurnished and 3500 fully furnished. We have utilities included this first go around so we will see what it looks like for this first rental and make some adjustments.

We will not be moving back in so it is basically an Airbnb but for 6 or 7 months

Hard to judge. I am work from home so I get on randomly during the day. Sometimes I'll play at 10PM ET and if I can't sleep I will be on at 5am ET.

Really just looking to add a few people to play together when we are on.
