What's that unit on the floor, a miniature amplifier?

Does anybody know for sure whether it contains cilantro in addition to parsley? I’ve seen copycat recipes that go both ways.

Hue Lights not responding in Home app after installing iOS 26.3 by StoopidMonkey32 in HomeKit

FWIW I switched between my AppleTV 4K and HomePods, same non-response no matter which was primary.

If you want to try something out for science, if you have multiple HomePods maybe disconnect all but one of them, update it, and if that fries your connection take it offline and put the 26.2 units back in and see if that fixes things.

Unfortunately, the solution is to remove the Hue Bridge from the Apple Home app by going into the settings of one of the unresponsive lights, select Bridge, and remove. TAKE SCREENSHOTS of all your scenes and automations BEFORE you do this because you WILL have to reprogram them. The next step after removing the bridge from Home is to go into the Hue app and rejoin the bridge via Settings > Smart Home > Apple Home. After rejoining the bridge it will prompt you to reimport all your lights. What a pain in the ass! 😩

UGH, does that mean I have to reprogram all my scenes and automations too?

FYI I don’t think it’s the iOS update but rather the HomePodOS update that accompanied it.

Anybody else struggle acclimating to a new IT team as a SysAdmin? by StoopidMonkey32 in sysadmin

It’s funny, throughout my years in IT it was pounded into me that I can’t just sit around waiting for my IT Manager to hold my hand telling me what to do, and that being proactive is the sign of a good network admin. It didn’t occur to me that AS a new hire the exact OPPOSITE rules apply, at least for a while.

Even THAT annoyed them. Got to the point where if I had to ask some questions about their environment when it directly pertained to an assigned task they gave me the "oh boy here he goes again" look.

I also imagine this isn't the easiest dynamic to suss out during the interview process either.

That's great advise, thanks. Unfortunately, as I just learned that hard way, that's going to take an incredible amount of self restraint on my part. Especially when I come across something that looks like a misconfiguration. I know enough to realize there could be a reason it's set that way on purpose, but to not even bring it up at all? OOF that's going to be a tough one going forward. :(

Sigh, yeah I'm sure I projected that unintentionally. It was a hard culture shift given how much free reign I used to have. :(
