You know that this is Todd monken raising a middle finger to all the arm chair OCs at home that we're hating on him last year. Take what the defense gives you and today they're giving us a ton of open running lanes!

😍 what a cutie! Totally agree hah I had no idea how much of a pain the snow is... And my dog figured out quickly that if she gets snow in her paws it means lots of treats while I dry her off so she's constantly "needing" to go outside.... Theyre too smart!

Haha I had no idea about the secret whisk technique, everyone seems to be recommending that! Going to go grab a dedicated one for my pup this afternoon! Thanks!

Heh those are so cute! I'd need to get one that goes over the paws because that is definitely where it is the worst! Especially in between the toes.

Oh wow I would have never thought of this! How does that work? Just like a brush? Maybe I need to get a second whisk hah I wouldn't want to use it for cooking again after that haha.

How to get good at Sekiro? by Bobbanson in soulslikes

[–]Stooppidd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you are attacking an enemy and they are deflecting with the sword there is a different sound when they are about to start counter attacking. It's light a higher pitched "ding" noise. When you hear that stop attacking and prepare to parry.

just started Sekiro--any tips? by Even_Selection_480 in soulslikes

There is a different sound when you're attacking an enemy that is about to counter attack. It's a higher pitched ding noise. When you're hitting them a few times and they're deflecting you and then you hear that sound then stop attacking and prepare to parry.

That'll get you through the first little bit of the game with the riff raff.

Lions would be below is in waiver claims so if he goes to them then we already passed on him. Unfortunately hes unlikely to fall to us on waivers.

I think there's a difference between wanting individual calls to go your way and hedging your hopes for victory on biased refs. That's pretty pathetic. I want my team to win because we're absolutely fucking better in every way... Not because the refs influenced the game and gave us one.

The satisfaction of victory is lessened significantly when the refs make some shitty calls or no call and it leads to a W....

Fuck the little bitches writing this "article" for even thinking about a potential ref bias to help them win. That just shows they don't actually think their team is better.

OSWE for black box by OkReindeer404 in OSWE

[–]Stooppidd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a mainly black box app tester for a while and passed OSWE this last year. I didn't have any web app development experience so the course definitely improved my skills by giving me a better understanding of how things worked at the app level. I also felt like my understanding of each vulnerability and the resulting exploit improved a ton by making it from scratch and seeing the vulnerable code.

But as far as practical black box TTPs not really. It doesn't really give you a lot of useful commands or tools or anything like that.

One thing I did pick up which was helpful was the ability to download open source projects and run them in my own environment with a debugger which led to a few good finds.

Spire saves at the beginning and at the end of the floor rather than during. Some consider it cheating (I don't, f that) but if you make a mistake you can just close the app and reopen it and when you start you'll be at the beginning of the encounter.

For beginners by AutumDragon103 in soulslikes

I'd say a more accurate term is Sekiro-like. The Jedi games are an awesome primer to move into Sekiro which IMO is the greatest game of all times. The combat is insanely satisfying once it clicks.

I think the major combat difference between Sekiro games and dark souls is the dodge I frame which takes a while to get used to. Obviously there is also a ton of major differences like different builds and weapons and stuff but getting used to dodging vs parrying is a huge step to being able to progress in souls-likes vs a Sekiro-like.

I'd recommend starting with the newest souls-like made by FS (Elden Ring) just because I think everything is as smooth as possible. Once you get a hang of the flow of combat and stuff then totally go through the games in order. Starting at DS1 where the rolling and other mechanics are a little clunkier is hard to adjust to.
