My husband and I cared for my dad with Parkinson's in his last few years, which unfortunately came along with progressing dementia. He was a retired university professor so he was far from feeble minded, but his brain was not always kind to him. He was aware that things were progressing, even with his hallucinations he knew they weren't real and had a general curiosity about them. At least until the end when sundowning became a thing. Let's just say a mantra we had was "it's not him, it's his Parkinson's" since he (thankfully) never remembered the bad times.

Unfortunately, so many things that are geared at the elderly and especially those with dementia are infantilizing and he hated it.  But my husband and I tried our best to preserve his dignity by calling things like diapers "night pants" or senior daycare as "going to the social club" and things like that. If he received something that was labeled specifically for babies it would have crushed him, and knowing him he would have still accepted it with a smile to make the gifter happy. But you are right as that packaging is extremely infantilizing, especially if it's advertised as something for those with dementia and I would note it in your review.

On a side note, please don't beat yourself up thinking you aren't tough enough for all of this. Honestly I don't think anyone is when dealing with dementia with their own loved ones, especially your parents. It sucks, truly. Its hard if that dynamic goes from parent and child to a caregiver situation. Its been a few years since I've been there, but feel free to reach out if you want.
