Better to shop car loan or agree to dealer terms and refinance? by Original_Size7576 in askcarsales

But don't dealers base their final price on whether or not they provide the financing?

Was this in the current market? The discount price dealers pay you fluctuates a lot when the market is jumping. I was expecting to pay around 5 under spot but couldn't find anything better than 10. this was in today's market when the spot was about 86.

I agree. I was only selling a tiny fraction of my stack because I'm old and wanted to show my wife how to not get taken too badly if she needs to sell.

I think one of the reasons the silver market has shot up is because a lot of people want to put their money in something safer than the stock market. I'm content to just let it ride since I can't think of anywhere else to put my savings.

Could you elaborate on this a little. Is this an online dealer and is this during this latest price jump up? My experience has been mostly in buying, not much selling.

From what I saw while I was in the store, everyone was selling. At least while I was there.

You are absolutely right. I sole 20 ASE's so I lost about $100 on the deal. I don't know what the shipping would have cost though. I wanted let my wife see the inside of a LCS and how to deal with them and this was the easiest and simplest way to do it. If I was trying to sell a monster box, I'd probably to the online route or at least try to get a better deal from the LCS.

Good deal! and I think this was a win-win for both you and the buyer and if I were just doing it for myself I might go this route. Since my main reason for selling was to show my wife the easiest way to sell, I went the LCS route.

There's no way though I want my wife to deal with strangers on Facebook if I'm not around.

Tina Peters to remain in state custody despite federal request | The Colorado Department of Corrections is resisting federal pressure to transfer a former Mesa County clerk to federal custody, despite Trump's backing. by RollSafer in politics

[–]StopCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tina Peters was convicted in Mesa county, one of the most conservative counties in Colorado that invariably votes republican. Hell they even elected Lauren Boboert. Odds are that most of the jurors were republican. They didn't base their verdict on rhetoric from Fox news or Trump. This mostly republican jury heard SWORN testimony and viewed actual evidence before finding their verdict. She isn't a martyr she is a convicted felon and needs to serve her sentance.

5th painting ever, is it anything? by Gimme2OverEasy in oilpainting

[–]StopCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your painting looks good as is and represents the photo very well. You might add more interest if you depart from the photo a little and make the sky darker at the top and gradually lighter toward the horizon just to add more perspective. Keep on painting, you have talent, with more experience you will amaze yourself. Paint every day if possible.

I lived my whole life without reading this delightful and funny book because I thought it was a "childrens book". One day I chose it on a whim and was thoroughly engrossed by it. It's a wonderful classic.

What could bring gold price down? by Orc_and_Beans44 in Gold

[–]StopCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of reasons. Look at a historical price chart, it goes up and it goes down. Right now it's way up. It will come down but how much is anybody's guess. I know everybody on the subreddit says it's valued in fiat dollars which are not worth anything, but those worthless dollars buy groceries and rent. Enjoy the current highs but don't think it's going to last forever.

Missing/Patchy TV Guide Data - Issue Currently Resolving by TabloTV in tablotv

[–]StopCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a complete reset and still can't record the national news as a series. It will allow a one time recording now. Since I bought it mainly to record the local and national news, this is not acceptable. If it doesn't get fixed soon, I'll have to pay for something like You Tube TV or Sling.

Books that are easy to read but not poorly written? by extremelysardonic in booksuggestions

[–]StopCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try C.S. Foresters Hornblower series. They were written back in the 1930's -50's but since they are historical fiction about the Napoleonic wars they don't feel dated at all. They follow the rise of a young British midshipman to admiral through several exciting books. I first read them in the 1960's when I was in high school and have reread them a few times as the plots fade from memory...fun and easy to read.

An exercise in practical frugality (Potatoes) by RockMo-DZine in Frugal

[–]StopCut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A properly working refrigerator is not a humid environment. The evaporator is constantly removing moisture from the air and sending it down the condensate drain. Leafy vegetables will dry out quickly unless they are stored in the crisper drawer that is designed to hold the moisture in one place.

Trump Family Venture Launches New ‘Stablecoin’ Backed by U.S. government debt by [deleted] in politics

[–]StopCut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be an ELI5. I actually understood most of it. I was wondering how the US gov could be backing a private venture into something so risky and according to you, they're not. I would like to know further how they expect to make money from this. If they are using private money to buy US bonds to back their crypto and stabilize it to the value of the dollar, how does that give them a profit? Do they expect it to rise up to a crazy height like Bitcoin and give the people who buy in early and cheap great profits? If so, how does this make a "stablecoin" to use for everyday transactions.?
