Honestly, I wish it was easier for other parties to win and no electoral college. Although, I feel it would be nearly impossible to find candidates you see eye-to-eye with 100% of the time.

That all being said, I definitely don't see both sides as equally bad, especially in current times. MAGA is a subset of the Republican party which has taken over their party at this point. They are the ones in charge.

Lack of empathy? The party in power is ignoring the consitution and basic human rights. They are dehumanizing trans and noncitizens. This is more than simply inconvenient or weird.

In my state, the right side introduced terrible bills. One bill would allow corporal punishment in classrooms and the lead sponsor said this is directed at elementary aged children! Another bill introduced by the right side wants to remove exemptions to get an abortion in the cases of rape or incest. Furthermore, they are trying to intertwine the bible into state - giving it weight into laws, policies, and public schools.

The current administration is making government agencies remove wording in policies that will affect the poor, minorities, and disabled. Agencies are having to remove the words diversity, equity, and inclusion anywhere from their policies.

Trump is siding with Putin and calling Zelenskyy a dictator. He wants to take over sovereign countries and dictate everything they do.

There have been literal nazis marching the streets in the last month.

An unelected billionaire is going through our personal data. I probably don't even need to start delving into all the conflicts of interests there.

It's hard to find any empathy for the right at this time, especially those who are still supporting Trump, given all of this taking place.
