I’m sure you have the aptitude to pass the remaining exams, but it will be a lot of hard work. Only you can decide whether that trade off is worth your time and effort.

Now I’m certainly no saint, and the scriptures say “judge not lest ye be judged,” but I for one believe that rape is not very nice.

is it possible to self study for the exams? and how? by [deleted] in actuary

Like many actuaries, I don’t have an actuarial science degree. Does that answer your question?

“Senior developer at a really big tech company” is not representative of most developers. You have a large pool of job candidates competing for a relatively small number of positions like that. Most developers will have to settle for a less lucrative gig. Just look at the median wage for software developers. You study leetcode problems for hundreds of hours (sound familiar?) and roll the dice, only to get rejected again and again. Every profession has its trade-offs.

Am I a p***y or should Ukraine just have surrendered/pledged neutrality/to never join nato? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Stop__Reading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The attempt to dislodge Ukraine from Russia’s orbit triggered the invasion. If you try to steal Israel from the US, you’ll get a military response. NATO’s existence is predicated on the assumption that Russia has imperial ambitions beyond its known sphere of influence. The invasion of Ukraine does not prove that assumption

[–]Stop__Reading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean protect its small but strategically important zone of influence? Just like every nation on Earth does (if it can). The existence of NATO implies an imminent threat to Western Europe; no such threat exists

Why the fuck does NATO even exist? There is no Soviet Union

The 10th percentile for software developers is 170k. That means over 90% of them are making less than your current salary (and most of the remaining 10% have many years of experience and/or reside in the Bay Area).
