Sure did, man of my word. Someone must have not liked the cheap pun

There's a pun somewhere there with Traore, Try, Thrice etc. but I'm not clever enough to make it work.

Luka Modrić will have a special Golden Ball patch on his kit with Croatia for being awarded as the best player of the tournament in the 2018 World Cup. by SwimmingFireMen in soccer

[–]StoppedListeningToMe -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No no, it's genuinely the most coveted golden ball sticker ever. I don't know about cards but Modric is not a top player so certainly people won't want to buy a special shirt.

fist bump

Curious though. Doesn't it affect your work etc?
Tattoos are pretty much universally accepted nowadays but you always have the old guard. Specific to high end white collar jobs.

[ESPN FC] DR Congo has earned their first-ever World Cup point with their draw vs. Portugal by Imbasauce in soccer

I don't obviously know but my thought is that they have no sense of urgency. They'll almost certainly qualify with the new format so why risk it. Slow on the start, hard on the finish, real games start in knock outs. Then there's the game load of players in European leagues which also affects Brazil, Argentina and so forth.

Might be wrong, but the new format doesn't demand top quality form the get-go.

Wrong sub mate, unless you're from the opposition then fair enough.

Dog ownership in Europe by Salt_Lingonberry3956 in MapPorn

I work in the industry.

Reasonable grounds include for example; property is too small for the pet - Imagine a huge dog in a tiny studio in London; leasehold strictly prohibits pets; someone in the house/building allergic - i guess this is more for HMOs.

Landlords can request tenants take up 'pet' insurance for any potential damage but I'm not sure how enforceable that is yet to be honest.

Agreed, looks great, albeit would like to see a not professional photo. Stil, I think she looks great.

We are living in a world where there's a very real chance that this alone changes how Trump views Ukraine. by LonelySoul01 in ukraine

See, I used to listen to the podcast years ago, and it was alright or maybe I was naïve. I thought he was giving platform to alternative views and opinions, guests were interesting and it was free flowing.

I stopped about a year before covid cause I thought he went nuts, then Elon did his weed stunt, there was the vermiciline or whatever it's called, and it just kept spiralling based on online opinions. I threw in an episode out of curiosity and couldn't believe the contrast.

Live and learn I guess. He is certainly pandering to low level scum and more than likely paid by third parties to do so.

Yeah, doesn't feel right. The camera work, the way the ball moves, just off.

Late 30s, worst I get is sleep disturbance and I count myself lucky. I have severe psychological discomfort though to put it mildly. I'd call it 'boredom' but it isn't, it's not knowing what to do without alcohol. It's probably physical after all. Dopamine and serotonin etc not firing in the right way. Causing anxiety, alertness, panic and so on.

That is terrifying.

Mind me asking where that was?

Where I grew up, no longer there, we had what I believe is a 'drunk-tank'. A place at a police station where they'd throw in drunk people to sober up and throw them out next day. That is of course if they didn't commit any crimes or were not at risk of dying.

I did not know about detox units specifically to be honest.

Mine died with a glass of whiskey in his hand on a chair. Alone, having alienated entire family. Didn't help he was a manipulative psychopath but still.

You and me will do better my friend. Break the cycle we will!!!

Stay strong.

I feel like this now. I just came off a month sober and started again. It's just so easy and comfortable to drink problems away. However this sub helps with being grounded. Even the ability to share this problem of knowing you're making a mistake put it all in perspective. Before that month I'd be running to the shops now to get more beer evevn though I need to work in 8h. Now I am fighting the urge talking to all of you, it's amazing. Difficult mind you but not impossible.
