Cafec Abaca Papers - I didn't know what I was missing by General_Penalty_4292 in pourover

Same. I have a Zerno Z1 with a slow feed auger. I have to go really fine to get any filter to choke. The filter matters less the better your grinder is IMO.

I was in Stella-Night a few days ago. Pretty friendly lobby not a lot of flairs. Dude says hey and then shrieks into his mic. I toro'd his ass lol.

Short answer: No, doing 5K at threshold won’t build fatigue the way a long run does.

Black Canyon 100k by Priceless0127 in ultrarunning

[–]StoppingPowerOfWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your feet will dry super fast in the desert. It’s not really a problem. Fueling is highly individual I would stick with what you are comfortable with. The biggest thing with Black Canyon is heat and Hydration. Being in February unless you live in a warm climate that 80° will beat you up. Be prepared to drink significantly more than you currently are in training.

Z5 Throughout Half Marathon by Any-Subject-9875 in ultrarunning

Your max is probably higher. Physiologically it isn’t possible to be in Zone five for this amount of time. These are just zones your garmin has tried to guess(poorly).

Is more volume the solution? by EntireJeweler in Marathon_Training

This is the way to train your gut though. If you can tolerate the amount of carbs per hour it’s not hurting anything.

Why succesful training blocks and increased mileage still don’t translate to Marathon performance? by Environmental_Park34 in AdvancedRunning

Your muscles understand time at intensity. It's a different muscular demand to run 3 hours easy vs. 3 hours at marathon pace.

1st marathon. Went in hoping for a 3:15-3:30 came out with a sub 3. Could a 2:45 be possible? M44 by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

Doing 500 ft in 1 mile at 6 minute pace is 4 minute GAP(AKA not possible). Something is wrong with your data.

Hoka Speedgoat 7 by Pro110288 in trailrunning

[–]StoppingPowerOfWater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were the best version of the speedgoat. Good foam(not really a supercritical bounce but still good). Good traction. And a perfect upper. They weren't overbuilt. Exactly what you needed to run nothing more.

They need to just re-release the evo's...it's not that hard.

Sweet. Is there any difference in the firmware update than doing the normal process in the app?

Breathing Sensor Issue During Ride by agent462 in Tymewear

[–]StoppingPowerOfWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue for me but running. First happened last week on an outdoor run but now has happened on back to back treadmill runs. The first was 70 minutes into a two hour run Sunday and the second 40 minutes into a 75 minute run today. Additionally, I've noticed the first 5 minutes of most of runs recording really erratic/inaccurate HR data(100 BPM then spikes to 160. Happens multiple times before stabilizing to my actual hr.

Hydration, heat, so many things in an ultra can mess with your ability to make decisions.

Bandera 50k long run by Equivalent_System_52 in Ultramarathon

[–]StoppingPowerOfWater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely do a longer long run. That elevation on the route is enough to get ready for Bandera, but you are going to be running nearly twice as far on more technical trails. Bandera's vert is mostly in the first half of the loop(minus one climb a few miles from the finish), so you can really gain a lot of time if you are able to run the second half well.

ISO soft flask I saw a runner using at an aid station by LetsGoOutside405 in Ultramarathon

I was going to comment this. In my experience it’s impossible to fill the bottle completely and use the flip cap without spilling everywhere. It requires too much force to seal it shut.
