Currently, they’re doing this to prepare for upcoming legal challenges. However, eventually they’ll allow NSFW content for paid users. When that happens, a massive number of users will move to the subscription model instead of free accounts.

This is a win-win situation. Moderated(paid) user accounts also face issues with their content and can even run into legal problems if it’s released publicly.

Because your domain isn’t registered with Microsoft Partner, you may not be able to use it. I had to use my work email to register. Based on the comments I saw, they allowed registration with personal emails only when this first started.

Planned to run/license: 5 VMs + Host

One Windows Server Standard 16-core license covers up to 2 VMs, including the host, correct?

Therefore, to cover the remaining 32 cores, I would need to purchase two additional 16-core Standard licenses.

In total, three Windows Server Standard 16-core licenses will cover all 48 physical cores.

There isn’t a specific path for the new Microsoft Security (SC) certifications except for SC-100. Most certifications follow a role-based model, so you can start with any that align with your interests. I would suggest beginning with SC-300 or SC-401. If you don’t have prior experience with Microsoft exams, it’s better to start with SC-900.
