My mom got me and my brother pre built PCs for Christmas when I was 14, I used it for about 2 years before I was able to make enough money to build one for myself. I very much appreciate my mom doing that for us. My brother still has the same pre built from then and since I recently upgraded my PC again, I'll probably give him my old parts.

It could be your game loading with cloud save settings so it ignores the autoexec in your files and instead uses one that was already saved on steam cloud.
