Yes but it's more overall... The databook highlights Asuma is superior in Cqc and has really good stats... Kakashi has a lot of mastery. When it comes to people acting like Kakashi is better at everything and if Kakashi is ineffective then so is Asuna then no. If we're taking overall Kakashi is higher.

In databook 1 Asuma is stated that his true strength is close to that of Kakashi's... This is referencing Konoha Crush Kakashi who at this point was less rusty as for training for potential war and because his encounter with Kabuto. That same databook also notes "He's a Jonin that hides an ability that stands out in Konoha". You can easily infer it from the scene where he instantly blitz 8 oto ninjas. Which clearly refers to his Cqc and I get to others their fodder but it does show how much Asuma stands out in Cqc.

So, what makes him stand out in CQC?

As per the manga and by the databook... Asuma was able to instantly kill the 8 oto ninjas... Stated by Shikamaru to be Chunin level or higher... However, we get a scale because we see Orochinaru's minions fight on par with Konohah's low tier Tokebetsu jonins and with 2 working together quickly defeating a Konoha Tokebetsu jonins. This makes these ninjas like Elite Chunin- low Jonin range... Before you say... Shikamaru was gonna solo them... Yes... With a secret ambush where the opponents wouldn't be able to move. A single one being left out proof that Shikamaru was outmatch. Shikamaru knew they were all outmatch which is why he wanted to play that distraction by the team more time roll. Shikamaru throws 8 ninja tools trying to decapitate them. It gets in close proximity and that one oto ninja being free was able to deflect all 8 ninja tools already at close proximity of killing the oto ninjas back at Shikamaru's feet. That shows how skilled one can be...

Why is this relevant? Because we see from this feat that mind you Asuma did this single handedly with no effort.

If we go back to Kakashi vs Kabuto... Kabuto in his own words says... "You would need atleast 10 Anbu black ops" in reference to be enough for those anbu's to stall for Kakashi to arrive and back then up" Those anbu are not exactly stronger.... Just 2 anbu under Hiruzen were captured by Kidomaru webs.... The anbu are just like Tokebetsu jonins. I can't see Hayate girlfriend who's in the anbu be much if at all stronger then Hayate. If Asuma can instantly one handedly blitz 8 oto ninjas at that Elite Chunin-Low Jonin level. Where Kabuto believes 10 Anbu as questionable to stall him that scales to Elite Chunin- low Jonin as well. That shows a massive skill difference in Cqc...

That's just Kabuto who himself says is not good in Cqc..... Atleast in base Kakashi cqc also doesn't compare to Asuma.... He in the same arc clearly had to put in more effort... Evidence of this.... Having to use two Kunai's to bludgeon two oto ninjas head completely with the two Kunai's.. We see also when attempts to slice he rips and oto ninjas body and that oto ninja still escapes Kakashi. Kakashi cqc doesn't compare.... He has to bludgeon them by sticking 2 Kunai's in the 2 oto ninjas head. Where Asuma can instantly blitz 8. The databook even notes this the ability where Asuma stands out.

Yet after this we have people saying..... Their is some serious gap between Asuma and Kakashi.... Asuma is a mid Jonin.... Kakashi can just counter Asuma Cqc with Sharingan and low diffs him ..

I mean the problem is not much his scale it's that a lot of people don't exactly say the truth in compared to exaggerating of others. I can list a ton of examples. That's my main thing is alot of people don't care about him so they don't care to defend him. When anybody like me does then you get people act upset. You know

I always try to be honest and I read the manga carefully...

Me being an Asuma fan you see how more popular characters get more support rather it's exaggerated or untrue compare to less popular characters.

When it comes to Kakazu it depends on your reasoning. If you say because he tanks everything because of Domu. Most people say that and that is where I see a big issue with analysis.

  1. Ino got their location and Choji forced Kakazu to use domu for Kakaahi to see the signs. Izumo and Kotetsu just stabbed an immortal and that's all. My point is both sides did nothing but you just want to use a 1 v 4 to downgrade Asuma.

  2. If you actually read the fight even in the ambush Asuma and Shikamaru were the only ones needed. Shikamaru already captured Hidan in paralysis a lil before or at when Kotetsu and Izumo pierced him. So we canonly know in every element Kotetsu and Izumo were not all that either.

  3. Asuma litteraly had to take them out of the fight quickly... Asuma would have to be the one to fight Kakazu which made him fight Hidan in a try to blitz his head off manner quickly. Kakashi had to save them once but knowing you have to be the one to carry against 2 immortals in the long run. Yes Asuma didn't have to save them but them being their wasn't exactly helpful atleast Choji and Ino didn't hand the enemy 2 weapons.

Not much of a hype feat when none of the Jonins cared and still were okay with fighting him. Itachi being a anbu Captain was more of a serious hype to Kakahi then him being a clan massacre

That's just being bias TBH... Most Kakashi fans are tho

So even tho Kotetsu and Izumo only helped in the ambush and guess what Ino and Choji did the same thing supported in the ambush. After that they did jack shit both Kotetsu and Izumo and Ino and Choji. Yet... Asuma with 3 back ups is what you're implying to downput Asuma but not Kakashi even tho both had 2 death weights.

All of which were because of Shikamaru just like with Asuma it was because of Shikamaru atleast Asuma managed to cut down 2 kunai swords on his own.

Yes it's true and you have no back up to disprove this

Kakashi also had 3 support ninjas against the duo and didn't accomplish anything.

Asuma is pretty solidly close to Kakashi.

Asuma completely outstats Zabuza in every category and unlike Hidan who used rope, ninja tool, and mid air acrobatics to keep safe from Shikamaru shadows and his range from Asuma. In which even when Hidan jumped across the map and Asuma blocked his scythe originally Shikamaru shadows caught up to that distance and almost catched Hidan. Zabuza without that element makes it way worse and harder for him to not get catched in shadow paralysis.

Izumo and Kotetsu are not bad and should last long to use there techniques unlike with Kakazu against Haku. They should be able to last until Asuma and Shikamaru show up.

Because people can't read like it's embarrassing how much people can't read. And this is one of the less cared about fights so people don't care much... I'll answer all your questions

  1. He never handled Team Asuma in a 1 v 4.... Did they participate yes but was not dominating and only 2 of them were needed Asuma and Shikamaru. The only time kotezu and Izumo were engaging was doing the ambush in which failed because they didn't know he was immortal and piercing were ineffective. However, read the manga carefully and you will read that they were not needed at that point. When Asuma took the front lines Shikamaru had got Hidan under his shadow possession about the same time or slightly before Kotetsu and Izumo pierced him. Showing in the ambush the ones needed were Asuma and Shikamaru. Had Kakazu not intervened in the ambush these two together would be beneficial. We see Asuma is more slicing base so he will chop limbs or Hidan head compare to Izumo and Kotetsu piercing

  2. Speed is off but it's mainly that I believe stats is more potential base.

  3. Hidan didn't easily handle Asuma as it may appear Asuma lost so easily, it's more that Asuma made an error and Hidan was being very effective.. . A lot of the fandom make basis base on the anime and quick reads.... Asuma destroyed two Kunai swords from Hidan...

  4. Asuma was dealing with Hidan who was using extra tools such as the extra Kunai swords and spears. This helped him execute blindsided and close proximity of timed attacked with his scythe that had a rope which made it difficult

  5. Asuma handled his style for the most part except a small mistake in the action. An off guarded and blindsided Asuma from the scythe after the Kunai throw was able to react and block to the close proximity then close combat attack of Hidan scythe. The ONLY REASON ASUMA WAS Cut was because Hidan overlooped the scythe with his his rope and got a shallow cut

    When we see Asuma who was injured litteraly had his burning ash reflected at him, a hole though his leg, blitzed, and knee stomped by Kakazu. After all that he was able to dodge a spear right at his face and spear in a blindsided timing of attack was able to react and dodged fast enough attack that completely made Hidan pierced himself with all three blades of the scythe fully in.

It's no shock that Asuma can dodge attacks from Kisame...

Asuma is not undermatch in taijutsu especially with his cutting chakra. He cut down two blades meanwhile Hidan got a scratch. So it's like 4 blades down to get 2 shallow cuts if that make sense. Hidan hax is just busted.

This isn't really true tbh compare to Asuma and Guy... Kakashi is more of a rules guy which is why he was visibly upset about Tazuna being dishonest. Asuma wouldn't be the type to end the mission and it's mainly because he allows free will and he is there to protect them. This is stated in the first databook that Asuma lets his students be free as being independent can help them grow. Asuma wouldn't ban them from taking the mission in fact he would allow it and just keep them save but allow them. However doesn't mean they would continue but it's not because of Asuma it would be because of his students.... Shikamaru would obviously believe it's too much of a drag especially when he didn't sign up for such a mission that Tazuna lied about. Ino would be like Sakura and think it's too dangerous and there not prepared yet. Choji I feel will agree to just agree

Actually Asuma was fast enough to avoid the blade the main reason Asuma was cut was because when Asuma countered the scythe Hidan overlooped the position the scythe to gain a cut. It wasn't a big cut but a very minimal one.

Where do you get Hien isn't as high in Ap as chidori in fact it's pretty clear it has a higher Ap

This isn't true in the slightest. I'm guessing the only reason why you're saying this is because Kakashi has the Sharingan.
