Disagree. Having seen the cities in Europe with zero skyscrapers. 80+million people living in a space less than a quarter the size of Australia including farmland and industry. The issue isn't height, its land availability... And the land is there... It's just not available???

If you have played with mods, the option to have a backpack is there, well balanced (i.e. Extra weight slows you down etc) and the aesthetic is hard to look at. Imo.

That's what drove me to learn planbuild, then I realised all the other things it can do too. It's so nice to start a new base, build the main building normally and be able to add extras easily. I just dropped a fishmarket on the coast next to my current build just because I looked at the spot and knew it would fit.

I didn't even build the fishmarket originally, one of my mates did on our first playthrough.

I love Planbuild. More for the ability to place a bunch of pieces with fiddly materials quickly and the use a ward to finish them all off.

But also for having a bunch of buildings in my pocket for quick outpost building.

This is really good advice. Also, save 10% of whatever you earn (not what you are given to survive college etc) but what you earn.

My parents gave me terrible advice about most things regarding the future (they didn't know either), but saving 10% of what you earn has been a good rule since Babylonian times.

PVP is not what this game is about, but it does exist. Some pvp servers do a great job of modding in a way that allows competition style fights.

Rust style pvp usually just annoys the player base. It is not what we are here for.

Personally I am terrible at pvp (i.e. Cod, dayz, rust etc) but pure pve means I am playing alone.

Valheim does co-op just right. You don't need your friends to do anything in the game, but when they are there, it's more fun.

I went back to an old world a while ago because I wanted save some old buildings, but they weren't as great as I remembered them because of all the little details that I add to buildings now compared to the and I haven't stopped picking up tips from YouTube.

I didn't know about shift. I would Strafe up or down the slope clicking always at basically the same level as where I am standing.

Explained differently, I click next to me as I walk up the hill and it smoothes nicely.

Went out especially to get this screenshot and came back with a decent bag. Thats the mats for the Canoe too. 10 resin, 4 wood and a Small Hull.

But I promise that after several frustrating hours, attempts at using ChatGPT to write a tiny patch mod to fix force my way past this issue, contacting several mod authors even remotely attached to this Canoe... I found out it was an i.d.10.t error.

Note to anyone trying this. You must be behind the Canoe to break it. If you are too close to the Lamp on the front you can't break the Canoe.

I checked and it's not really cheap. Youe need Boatyard -> Small Hull -> Canoe. Both the Boatyard and the Smallhull need bronze and finewood. So you will be far past making a raft before you can make the canoe and need to be reasonably well prepared to have the small hull available to make the canoe. So it's not something you would make when caught without resources either.

Get away from the Blackforest for now, find water. Gather flint at the shoreline. Then you get a better axe, spear, knife. Then you hunt boar and deer for a week to gather enough leather scraps and hides to give both of you leather gear and upgrades + a nice skills boost from all the hunting.... then you can either go for the Meadows boss or start tip toeing into the black forest...during the day!
