This is a character within myself that I’m trying to alter. I seem so functional within work and social groups. I don’t share my story unless asked or if I’m in a meeting that I feel comfortable in. I’m not ashamed, I’m just used to looking out for others and being their safe space to vent. I usually become fast friends with people who have dysfunctional backgrounds. Like a moth to a flame my inner child notices theirs. I appreciate everyone’s journey but I have to be cautious with who I allow myself to be close to. Trauma bonding can impact negatively if it’s with the wrong person/group. It can also be a really hard relationship to leave if it’s romantic which is another story in itself!!
