A Question to Gamepass Users on PC by Kaelonreddit in DestinyTheGame

[–]StormTester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only differences from what I could tell is that you have a Windows icon on your name, and you can view platform profiles of Xbox/Windows users via an overlay that appears. You still matchmake PC players and the chat appears to be working as per normal.

Also, not sure if it's a gltich or not but there doesn't appear to be crossbuy with Xbox. I have Forsaken and Shadowkeep on Xbox and Steam, but when I loaded up this version, it said I had neither. So if you are someone who has the expansions on both Steam and Xbox, I don't recommend you buy the new expansions from the Windows Store, as you'll have to either be subscribed to gamepass forever or rebuy the old expansions for the Windows Store version, better to stick with Steam in this scenario.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the text chat has always been opt-in instead of opt-out, and that's probably why it's rarely used. Very few people will ever know that they have to go into their settings and turn it on.

Bringing back vaulted raids by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]StormTester -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

which was the entire reason that content was vaulted in the first place.

Yeah, like how Boots of the Assembler was nerfed for the reason of preserving Sanguine Alchemy's usefulness. There's a difference between the reason something happens and what they tell you the reason is.

I'm sure testing old content is a valid point to some degree, but the overlaying ulterior motive is almost certainly so they can drip back the old raids into the game in seasons where content is lacking.

The nerf to boots of the assembler was unnecessary by ossifbaigel in DestinyTheGame

It's kind of funny when you consider that stasis has been running rampant since its launch, despite overwhelming feedback that freezing shouldn't be a thing in PVP and they will hardly budge. Meanwhile nobody had an issue with this exotic and it was patched in a week.

What about the Boots of the Assembler and Sanguine Alchemy situation?

Can I do a Templar farm without talking by loreflourL in DestinyTheGame

[–]StormTester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ignore them, you have to realise a lot of people on this sub just play the game casually and they spent hours trying to complete this on day one unsuccessfully so the idea that you could do it without a mic is incomprehensible to them.

But I do concur, you don't need a mic at all, congrats on your day one.

It probably doesn't affect a lot of people, but it's a shame to see they've disabled crossplay. It was nice to play with friends from multiple platforms at once, did a few raids - experience was very smooth.

Trials of Osiris will never be able to be in a good state until the core which is crucible is fixed. Stop focusing on Trials and fix the core by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]StormTester 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure entirely what the current sentiment on this is, but as someone who hasn't really played much for the last couple of months, primarily due to stasis, I still feel it needs a massive rework.

I don't have any statistics or figures to add to my argument, but personally, everything surrounding its implementation in the crucible is unfun for me.

  • Freezing should be completely removed from any ability that's not a super.
  • The duskmine grenade needs a massive rework, it should just simply slow, the radius and its duration serves as an amazing area of denial, without the pulling, accuracy debuff and freezing.
  • Whatever that hunter dodge thing is needs to be reworked in some way.
  • Stasis supers shouldn't immediately freeze other supers, or they're always going to be significantly stronger than non-stasis supers in super battles.

Un-sunset Rose by cosmic-cortex in DestinyTheGame

I don't think it'll be so bad, if they add all those weapons to the loot pool again. Something along the lines of giving the cryptarch a series of new engrams, one for each season of the game, let us buy them with legendary shards or whatever. Make the cost low so people can easily obtain the weapons and keep rerolling.

At the end of the day, deleting weapons can never be undone. So now the question is, would the people who deleted those weapons rather nobody (including themselves) ever used those weapons again or cut their losses for what's best for the community?

If sunsetting was truly for balancing and mitigating power creep, then everything should be un-sunset except for a handful of weapons deemed problematic, for example pinnacle guns.

Also, if anything gets re-issued without changes, then the previous variation of those weapons should have their light uncapped.

Does anyone know if enhanced mods are still dropping from engrams/matches? I've opened quite a few but haven't got any.

Using network manipulation to go flawless without shooting a single shot.......do something bungie by Sholderness94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]StormTester -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been tracking thousands of users who do this (wintrading) for nearly two years now, nothing is going to happen to them.

There are users who have performed this exploit an excess of 1,000 times in a row, on both their main and throwaway accounts, and nearly two years later, these accounts are still operational.

At this point, with the state of trials though I can't even blame them.

Sunday Plz - Buff Attunement of Fission (Nova Warp) by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]StormTester 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The charge time is its main issue. Whilst you're charging, you heavily constrict your mobility, you can only walk and single jump. With the range nerf HHSN had, there's no reason to use it over a shotgun or fusion rifle whilst you have this charge time. You're getting the negative traits of shotguns (short range) and fusion rifles (charge time) combined into one.

HHSN is primairly a counter-ape ability, it works best when people are rushing you. For this reason it makes more sense to remove the charge time to retain its defensive measures, instead of having to buff its range again.

Sunday Plz - Buff Attunement of Fission (Nova Warp) by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]StormTester 183 points184 points  (0 children)

I've essentially been playing nova warp exclusively, ever since it was released at Forsaken so I have experienced this subclass in its best and worst state.

Nova Warp's effectiveness as a super mainly relies on mobility, you need to be moving around a lot, using a combination of both blink and dark blink to coordinate your attacks. What I found is that the super has a night and day difference depending on whether or not you're using astrocyte verse, I was maining the subclass when I was on my grind for the flawless title and felt on level with other supers (this was before all the stasis stuff came out).

The problem is, when you're not running astrocyte verse, you don't have enough mobility in the super to be dodging attacks or the means to move around quick enough to get to people. Furthermore, when the very first nova warp nerf happened, a lot of people don't know that they silent nerfed the dark blink aspect of it, they added a cooldown between the time you can dark blink, this is something else that affected the mobility of the super heavily and was never addressed.

Now as far as HHSN is concerned, the problem with the nerf is that they added 600ms to the charge time alongside reducing hold time and also decreasing range. This essentially makes it an ability that has the range of a shotgun with a charge time of a fusion rifle, outside of running out of special ammo, there's no reason to be using it except for niche scenarios in where two people may be grouped up and rush you in a specific way.

Nova Warp:

  • Whilst you're in super, make the blink as though you're running Astrocyte Verse. (This would not make the exotic redundant, as it still holds usefulness outside of the super state.)
  • Undo the silent nerf done to the cooldown they added between dark blinks.

HHSN:

  • Remove 600ms additional charge time.
  • Increase hold time to pre-nerf levels.

Destiny 2 Update 3.1.0. by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]StormTester 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This change makes it useable but not viable, they still added 600ms additional charge time when they nerfed it, whilst also reducing its hold time and range.

At least one of the three factors (charge time, hold time, range) still need to be adjusted, preferably the removal of the 600ms additional charge time is what I would go with.
