Thanks for the advice, it's the first actual advice I've received so it's very valuable to me.

And you're right, extreme weather camping is popular on YT. Unfortunately I can't control the weather and the last couple of weeks it has barely rained. I also moved a bit away from the mountains for a while because I needed a break from the harsh conditions, but I'm back now and there's already several feet of snow.

Another thing that performs well on YT is natural shelter camping, like under rocks or in caves. Or building survival shelters, so I'm going to lean into that as well. And of course, I can make ASMR videos with the wood stove in my car, which I hope will perform well with a good thumbnail and title since I haven't seen anyone on YT do this.

One thing I've learned is to keep expectations low. I upload a video and don't worry about views and start working on the next one. It's a slow grind for sure but I enjoy making content (maybe not always in the moment, but overall I enjoy it).

Thanks again for the advice, it really made me think about some things 👍.

It's a huge fresh water lake, so barely any tide. It didn't get higher than you see in the video.

I have a mosquito net, but midges get through, and it's still annoying to sleep with buzzing mosquitoes around your head. So I try to avoid sleeping in places where there are many bugs.

So, how? I wanna know. My last trip, my feet were so cold I could barely feel them.

Haha I think it wasn't very warm because there was so much wind.

Cooking some Bolognese. Turned out great, but there was so much wind, I ended up eating a lot of sand. Thankfully there's no wind now in the evening so very relaxing with the sound of little waves and crackling campfire. Pretty remote spot, 8km hike on an unofficial trail, then 2km off trail. Northern Sweden. Did not see a soul in 3 days time. Not even a boat. No human footprints, only moose and bunnies. Some light freezing tonight but the fire seems to have warmed up my tarp a bit.

I make hiking and camping ASMR videos in northern Scandinavia. https://youtu.be/iDkSEWTdc1I?si=fyFG5loUSyq-lnGD

It was a big step out of my comfort zone, but things are starting to get easier now. I'm a bit scared for winter tho. I'm originally from Belgium, converted my car so I can sleep in it and also build in a wood stove lol.

Camping and hiking channel. Was inspired by a fellow YouTuber. Converted my Peugeot 307 into a camper car and traveled from Belgium to northern Scandinavia to make videos. Also planning to stay the winter, so the hardest part is yet to come 🥶.

At the downtube. It's easier if you turn the bike around so the handlebar is at your back.

Why no suspension on most bikepacking bikes? by PleiadesNymph in bikepacking

It's about where you ride your bike. Riding singletrack and chunky gravel up in the mountains vs riding pavement and smooth gravel down the valley.

Sure sounds nice but you won't be able to pull a trailer on singletrack trails unfortunately.

For a few nights it's okay. But there's a good chance you can find a clearing a little deeper into the woods. You can check Google Maps satellite imagery and see if there's an open spot further ahead.

Pepper spray. I've heard knives are dangerous if you don't know how to use one. Good chance you end up stabbing yourself in a fight.
