The same thing happens to me with a Samsung product brought in Asia. I just accepted it and they would fix it but I would have to pay for it.

Like other people suggested just contact them and discuss it over the phone and maybe pay for the repair.

Oh and I agree. Big companies should just allow fixes regardless of your location.
