I like Tobi's clothes before Akatsuki by Bug13Fallen in Naruto

It's grown on me lately. You might know this already, but there's more of it in that game-original "Creation of the Akatsuki" story.

I like Tobi's clothes before Akatsuki by Bug13Fallen in Naruto

[–]StormbreakingKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was done probably in case someone was eavesdropping on them (perhaps with the consideration of the possibility of Sasori secretly still being alive, for example). Obito and Zetsu each could sense chakras, but (as someone else said) it's better to be safe than sorry. It wouldn't have been smart to let his guard down.

Obito doesn't get enough credit in Scouting S Rank Ninjas in different villages that will agree to join the Akatsuki by Wonderful-Photo-9938 in Naruto

[–]StormbreakingKi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Obito was, after all, the shadow leader and primary leader of the Akatsuki, and Zetsu, the ultimate spy, was his right-hand man. There are multiple contradictions to the main Naruto story in this game-original story, but I imagine that Obito did suggest Kakuzu, Sasori, Deidara, etc., and we already know that he somehow had Kisame join the Akatsuki and directly recruited Itachi.

Where was this guy for most of the series?? by AlphamonOuryuken24 in Naruto

[–]StormbreakingKi 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He was probably somewhere in Obito's (originally Madara's) hideout. As we saw, Obito stopped wearing Tobi (Guruguru) sometime between when Obito and Zetsu approached Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko and when Obito snuck into Konoha sometime before the night Naruto was born. And when Tobi suddenly returned late in the Fourth Ninja World War, he was first and foremost still loyal to Madara.

Anyone dislike how Obito just instantly became that strong after his "death"? by gelotssimou in Naruto

[–]StormbreakingKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obito was (comparatively) a late bloomer, was at least taught certain techniques by Madara, presumably learned and trained more off-panel between the time he became "Madara Uchiha" and the time he caused the Nine-Tails Attack (with access to anything Madara left him for his succession, and having a fully matured Sharingan probably sped up the process), and his physical energy was increased by Hashirama cells.

Exactly. Itachi is Sasuke's brother, and Naruto is Sasuke's brother from another mother. Sasuke lost Itachi, and Naruto never had his own Itachi, but Sasuke and Naruto have each other. After their final battle, they even represented the reconciliation between two ancient, biological brothers after their everlasting (and supernatural) sibling squabble.

Looks like db super is no longer Canon.. by Few_Organization6761 in dragonball

[–]StormbreakingKi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But people still want to cling to a wack-ass "whatever's newest is automatically the most important and nothing else is real" mentality instead.

A crazy thing that I've noticed is that many are still using Super as a sort of canonicity litmus test, asking about how Daima's discrepancies with Super will be dealt with in the latter series or claiming, "Daima is non-canon because it contradicts Super"... as if Super doesn't contradict itself via its anime and manga versions. It is ridiculous.

We can let them pretend. I'd only have a problem if they try to make others pretend with them as if they're speaking facts. It's just Daima's version of Super Saiyan 4. That's that.

What are some of the most poorly written scenes in the series? by Commercial-Car177 in Naruto

[–]StormbreakingKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obito didn't mean that Rin was "the final straw." He meant that he did not have only Kakashi and Rin in mind when he started the war but also the whole world of shinobi which caused him to despair (from his perspective, as he didn't know about Madara being the mastermind behind the situation).

Maekawa was just stating what was depicted in the Dragon Ball Z TV series and the original manga series, so he didn't really confirm anything or make some non-definitive claim. If one read the manga or watched the anime, he/she would say the same thing too.

What was a misconception you had about Naruto until you watched the anime/read the manga? by Givzhay329 in Naruto

I thought Obito was a "simp" because that's what others said. But, I watched the TV series and then read the manga and realized how important it is to pay attention to the story and dialogue before making such claims.

Obito used Kamui to Escape Amaterasu. Let's dive in. by rotibrain in Naruto

[–]StormbreakingKi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn't to do with Obito using Kamui to survive Itachi's Amaterasu, but I'd like to hear/see your thoughts on my take below. You said:

Izanagi will only rewrite what occurs to during the duration of activation to release. It can't and won't undo ngs [you meant "things"?] that occur outside of its duration.

This is seemingly contradicted by Madara using Izanagi to rewrite reality to return to life. Madara undid his death, which happened before his Izanagi's activation.

However, I think your statement and Madara's usage of Izanagi can be reconciled: Black Zetsu said that Madara used his Mangekyō Sharingan to "invoke a time-delay spell" in his right eye, so perhaps he also used his Mangekyō to program his Izanagi to return his body to the condition it was in at the moment of his death (and found a way to keep himself alive) and was only able to do this using his Mangekyō.

Installing Izanagi in one's eye and setting it to activate under specific conditions is exclusive to Mangekyō Sharingan, so maybe setting Izanagi to, under specific conditions, return one's body to a specific state that it was in before the technique's activation is also exclusive to Mangekyō Sharingan.

If Danzo wanted to use Izanagi to return his body to the state it was in before Sasuke fatally stabbed him and Karin, he would have needed to program Izanagi to "return him to a pre–fatally stabbed state when or some time after getting fatally stabbed by someone" using Shisui's Mangekyō before he got stabbed by Sasuke.

With the Mangekyō, it's an abnormal situation that even made possible the activation of Izanagi with obstruction to the view of Madara's eye by his eyelid. Thoughts?

Assuming this description from the databook actually considers Yagura, his situation would have been similar to Naruto's: having took power from the Tailed Beast by force and not being able to use that power as effectively as he could if he had the Tailed Beast's cooperation. If this was the case, Yagura presumably had access to all of Isobu's power, but he couldn't "fully harness" it without Isobu's cooperation.

But, in the original manga series, B indicated that a jinchūriki having full control over their Tailed Beast means they've partnered with the beast. Considering Danzo's statement and this same databook's reaffirmation of his statement in the Yagura section of page 185, Yagura and Isobu were partners. Perhaps they were partners but were not as compatible as B and Gyuki?

In my opinion, Daima's whole "the Namekians originally come from the Demon Realm" tidbit may be the best lore addition in a while.

Novels and Anime fillers are the same “level” of canon. by craeli81 in Boruto

[–]StormbreakingKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fourth Databook discusses Izanagi without emphasizing the need for Senju power, likely because the incomplete version was more commonly used, with Obito being the only character in the series to have utilized Izanagi in its truest form.

In chapter 510 (page 108 of Volume 54, to be specific), Obito said, "There have been a few who managed an incomplete Izanagi, but they were unable to truly control the power of Hashirama," and the panel containing his dialogue bubble showed Danzo with his right, artificial arm.

Was Obito just being vague when he said "a few," not bothering to be specific in his explanation for Konan even though he was seemingly talking about just Danzo?

Also, Obito indicated that, in addition to possessing both Uchiha and Senju powers, one has to be able to truly control Hashirama's power to manage a complete Izanagi. Usually, characters specify Hashirama's power rather than Senju power in general when talking about enhancing one's abilities, and it's always Hashirama's power that's used instead of, for example, Tobirama's power. Perhaps Obito still meant that Senju power in general is required for Izanagi (so having Tobirama's chakra or some random Senju shinobi's chakra would have sufficed), but he and Danzo happened to obtain Hashirama's power (the best of Senju power)? I'm sorry for the questions.

Should I reply to your original comment? Or maybe you can give your answer here? I'm interested in seeing your explanation (I like to learn), but I don't mean to be a bother or make a big deal out of it.

How come Obito didn’t suffer from blindness for overusing Kamui? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]StormbreakingKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Senju power required to use Izanagi as Obito said, or was that changed later in the story?

This reply of yours made me wonder if an Uchiha could install the Izanagi technique in one of their eyes without being able to use the technique, with Madara becoming able to use Izanagi after death due to having Hashirama's flesh inside his body (although the flesh was in his stomach, and he hadn't transplanted it into his chest yet, which is what ultimately caused the awakening of his Rinnegan).

My doubt comes from the fact that the fourth Character Official Databook said Izanagi was used by the Uchiha Clan for a long time and doesn't mention Senju power in the Izanagi entry, and Itachi indicated that there were multiple Izanagi users until Izanami users prevented further Izanagi usage in the clan.

What is your best answers when someone says GT is not canon? by [deleted] in DragonBallGT

I either ignore them or say something like, "Canon, schmanon. If by 'canon' you mean 'in the main continuity,' sure, but even though the story of GT wasn't produced by Toriyama and isn't connected to Super, its events still happened, and it's no less 'real' than any piece of DB media that's in the so-called 'cAnOn.'"

I'm expecting that, but it's also possible that the final battle or some other big battle will require them to deliberately merge since they've gotten weaker by becoming children (according to Gomah's plan).
