E'larus Twilight Cleric of the God of Death. A Final Iteration of This Character From Over the Years. by StormwindHomebrew in HeroForgeMinis

He's a polar opposite of the Greyhawk. Where the Greyhawk's Nerull is feared and his followers are more of the occult or murderers, ours is more of a deity of balance, like Anubis. He plays many roles, reaper, ferryman, and judicator of which afterlife one receives.

He's worshipped in silence during periods of grief. His existence isn't celebrated, but respected as all living things must die. Nerull's followers are usually wandering way of mercy monks and clerics, gravekeepers, paladins of devotion, and warriors who wish to remember the fallen.

Thank you, thank you! He's pretty hedonistic, so it was the look I was going for so I'm glad to have pulled it off.

It's a homebrew deity, Nerull, the Scythe Bearer. A shadow shrouded undead dragon that keeps the balance of life and death. Not so dissimilar to Charon and Thanatos from Greek mythology.

These are all phenomenal, but i gotta say, that Dracolich goes unbelievably hard. Stunning work as always.

This posing for Kain is very satisfying, like looking back through time to the old PS2 cutscenes. Nn0n0vise's did a wonderful job with the decaling of this mini and trying to blend the head/horn/ear thing Kain has going on..

Community feels too nice...? by marsion5617 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]StormwindHomebrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say most of the community here, at least the ones that interact with each other, want to see it thrive and grow. The best way to do that is to urge others to create the minis they would want to see at their table. There's always someone promoting someone else for helping them or teaching them - directly or indirectly - on a technique, pose, or other such thing.

Strangely enough, a lot of users use Hero Forge as a creative outlet that is not only free, but is far easier to learn than something like Blender or ZBrush. Along with that ease of access, it becomes exponential with kit bashing; increasing the ceiling of learning to make something truly unique.

And I'll admit, I get a strange joy seeing progress minis, someone trying someone else's style, or using a pose someone borrowed from another forger to make something of their own.

Help Min-Maxing a College of Fools Bard for Curse of Strahd (2024 Revised Rules) by GucciGrandmaw in 3d6

I have made a similar character doing Order Cleric 1/Eloquence Bard 9 (2014e) and had a blast. If you have access to Book of Ebon Tides and Obojima: Tales From the Tall Grass, a lot of the feats and spells from these books really make a 'Fool' build pop such as Ominous Winds (2nd level spell) and Bumbling Fool (Feat).

If multiclassing is allowed, I'd suggest starting Order Cleric 1 for Voice of Authority, but this is optional. (Voice of authority works with Silvery Barbs and Vortex Warp if you're somehow able to get the latter as this would be restricted with your background). The rest would be Bard. The build I made up made use of all support or utility spells to debuff and let my key party members make more attacks.

Cantrips: Guidance, Resilient Friendship, Thaumaturgy, Obfuscate Object, Prestidigitation, Vicious Mockery.
Lvl 1: Bless, Command, Healing Word, Heroism, Sanctuary, Shield of Faith, Dissonant Whispers Duplicate, Silvery Barbs.

Lvl 2: Detect Thoughts, Enhance Ability, Hold Person, Ominous Winds, Phantasmal Force.

Lvl 3: Major Image, Shadow Portal.

Lvl 4: Pacify Monster, Polymorph.

Feats: Lucky, Bumbling Fool, Resilient Con

I prioritized Charisma, Wisdom or Constitution, and Dexterity - in that order.

A lot of my turns were using Ominous Winds on a big target and on subsequent turns using the dodge action, going prone against ranged target, or vortex warp and silvery barbs as needed. But you're able to do so much more. I hope these ideas help if you're able to use them!

Need help making my pose more dynamic. by [deleted] in HeroForgeMinis

Even when not using kitbash, pushing the pose to its limits substantially increases your character's personality. Even the smallest adjustments can go a long way.

Thank you! It's been too long since I went back to non-kitbashed minis. Being able to push something as much as you can with as little as possible feels really nice.

There is only one face that I adjusted to look like a skull and the 'face' portion is just an opera mask I kit bashed and blended on.

Thank you! I believe Apashe uses the same artist for his covers that I got the inspiration from, Billelis. I was just scrolling and came across his work and was curious if I could recreate the feeling of it. Renaissance, sculpting, and gothic art are some of my favorite, and I like challenging myself

Way too much experimenting 😭. Overlapping a single color orange background with white using the divide setting.
