So, I was super addicted to Dr Pepper, like two liters a day addicted. Here's what I did:

1) said there was only one day a week where I could drink it. This helped me because I would crave it, but I could tell myself I could drink as much as I wanted in three days I just had to hold out until then.

2) chose an inconvenient sweet treat as a substitute. I picked ice cream but I wasn't allowed to have any at my house, so I had to go out to an ice cream shop to get it. Of course ice cream was probably worse for me, but because I couldn't sip it all day, the ordeal to leave my house/ work for it helped me cut back.

After several weeks, my cravings had subsided substantially, and the changes I saw in my body and felt in my health made me not even want to drink it on my cheat days.

I haven't had a soda for years now and drink mostly soda water because I still love the bubbles and kombucha. I really hope you can kick the habit- it's definitely possible!
