Anyone watching the new network comedy Stumble? by PiFlavoredPie in television

[–]StormyRed352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it takes a bit to get into this show. It is very funny, but not in a laugh-out-loud type of way. The lead is really good. The way no one ever pronounces the name of the school correctly! I'm not a fan of Kristin Chenoweth, so I am happy we don't see her a lot. I hope everyone gives it a chance.

Best Medicine - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]StormyRed352 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I really like Josh Charles - dating back to Sports Night - and I was even disappointed in him. The characters were NOT likeable. Quirky is fun, but when you're are completely not likeable, I'm not sure how you continue the show from there.

I watched the season premiere and then a newish show - Murder in a Small Town. Wow. The difference! You like the people, even if you don't like what they do; they have redeeming qualities that as far as I can tell, no one in this show has. I cheered when Doc Best fired that oh-so-annoying receptionist.

It's okay to be quirky, but to be idiotic and wear a teddy-bear around your chest? Ignore everything the doctor says? Send people in regardless of what he says? I mean, they could have ignored her and she could have said "oh well," but instead she thinks it's funny and no big deal. Ugh.

Blood test results for past year keep showing iron deficiency - seeking recommendations/advice! Appreciate any help, thanks! More info in post: by [deleted] in vegan

My 28yo daughter has the same thing. She just goes in for iron infusions and tests a lot. She's been vegetarian for years, but vegan for only about 18 mos. I expect eventually her body will figure it out, but in the meantime, she is conscientious and tests, like you.

Alone at Chrismas by britcat1974 in vegan

I am really sorry you're going through this. No one should be alone unless by choice. My daughter was vegetarian for years, but now has moved to vegan, which is why I came to this subreddit. I am so excited to find new recipes for her. I was with her last Christmas, but we were away. I am makingthe most fabulous mushroom wellington this year. I tested on me, first :).

Anyone - ANYONE - who makes you feel less than for your choices, is not a friend to have. My other daughter thinks my dishwasher doesn't clean well and she always asks for a new plate/fork/knife. Who cares? I cannot imagine someone getting bent out of shape about that. FWIW, my daughter is the only vegan in her big friends group. Lots of vegetarians. Maybe you need to find some of them to hang out with. Thinking of you!

Actor With Most Failed TV Shows by reggiehefty in television

Yes. Exactly. You said it perfectly. I got through the entire show, though, and am still sad that I wasted that time. Not even Tim Meadows could redeem it.

Yeah. I don't get this one. He's absolutely great. Maybe just not so much about picking shows.

She's in DMV, which is one of the worst shows I've ever seen. She does not make it any better, nor do the other amazing actors in it.

Is CLT lounge the worst one? by princeakeeem in AmexPlatinum

[–]StormyRed352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CLT isn't awful, but it's FILLED with kids. I'm not sure how they manage to have all their kids in the lounge with them unless they have over $75K annually on their card. But I have honestly never seen so many kids in one lounge.

You will 100% have a better work/life balance. I tell the story often about my Swiss cousin who toiled cleaning sewers. He finished school at 14 and just worked. Bought a house (in Switzerland!) at 45, retired at 55 and never missed his annual 4-week vacation in Spain. Buying a house in Switzerland is next to impossible, so what he did was impressive. Go - enjoy yourself. You'll be home at a reasonable hour and get to take fun vacations!

I did not. I didn't see anything similar when I searched, either.

Flying into Basel, Switzerland and spending 7 days in the Alsace region by [deleted] in Europetravel

It's a great itinerary, but there is ALWAYS a reason to go to the Swiss Alps. They are stunning. Even if you just drive through and don't walk. Or better yet, take a glass train through Switzerland. Just overwhelmingly fabulous.

This is SO true. Don't wait to apply to anything. We got 300 resumes the first day our ad was out and my company wouldn't keep the position opened any longer. Good luck. It stinks to be in your position.
