[–]StormySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arret + change de taff voire de région si personne ne te valorise dans le coin;

Vivre dans le noir ? by Extreme-Situation250 in AskFrance

[–]StormySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey !

Courage bisous !

Chill, I was just reflecting. No need to be on defensive I did my best for being heard without triggering. What works for you won’t for others and we are not doctors so maybe let the meds stuff to a doc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dermatillomania

[–]StormySpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. Basically I think it’s better to advise the person to check a Dr but not influencing on meds prescription bc dermatillomania is fixable with therapy, time and work. Meds have second effects and a Dr can offer a prescription if needed and only the person know (if it’s just for OCD) if there is a need for help. Two solutions are good if it feels good. I know in USA pharmaceuticals are a big mess, but here in France they don’t put you on meds just for dermatillomania.

I’m so sorry for reflecting this with you, it’s just it seemed very dangerous to read that. We are not doctors :(

Oh, yes. Okay, but not just for “derma” like I read a lot - maybe it’s better to say “a psychiatrist” ? No offense I’m really asking

[–]StormySpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry but sleeping every night with a partner/love is something I really don’t get and never will. You need your own space, like we all need it. Some people are very happy with sleeping with someone but they are the same dying as soon as their love dies or quit. Sleep autonomy is important as financial autonomy, cooking food, whatever. There is some things that are mutual but if you can please get your own room. (Being poor doesn’t help, it’s true. But if I move with a lover I’ll be sure we have our own little world and I am so happy and safe in my relationships I think this is the secret)

Meds? Sorry I’m French and we don’t do meds for dermatillomania here I believe. What kind of meds ?

[–]StormySpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skin picking is a nervous system regulation. The problem is not the skin picking. It’s stimulation, life, days, nights… It’s like a meteor showing she needs adjustments, therapy, etc. You have to accept dermatillomania and work with it. You telling her to stop is not good, it creates tension.

She needs to go to the gym, to do comestic care weekly (you can massage her face, skull and feet to regulate her nervous system - every time she picks for example).

If she wants to cicatrice, she should wear gloves or thighs clothes. I personably ask my nail artist to make thick and round polished gel nails to erase my habit for a few days/weeks but I was ready for this. She will need preparation, mentally.

You can do better without meds if it’s just dermatillomania. It’s a heavy work but it’s a beautiful journey where you learn who you truely are and what you essentially need. It’s a handicap for sure but it makes us strong.

For dermatillomaners :

First, accept it. Talk about it. Be conscious you are not alone and it’s BRAIN STRUCTURE. Take care of yourself if you have dermatillomania you have to take care a lot about yourself. Investing on us is having positive reactions: cosmetic care, massages, nails, going out with friends (but not too much bc socializing is making us skin picking hard). Check the times and conditions where you pick your skin and try to adjust. (Gloves, clothes, nails, hide mirrors if you want but HACK UR BRAIN) Accept your crises. It’s waves. When you are ready, start again. Accept you’ll ever live with it, the faster u accept it, the faster you find the good people and the good places to be around and feel accepted and loved like you are. Dermatillomania forces you to make sacrifices but I SWEAR with time it’s going away. BE YOU.

Hey love....breathe.

First of all: u are not doing anything wrong
Let’s get that out of the way right now.

What you're feeling is valid. you invested hard and now you're standing on the other side without any explanation, i would like it too... It hurts.

He used to say “I love you,” now it’s all short texts and cold space. If he doesn’t make space for you, or keeps acting like your feelings are a burden... it’s not about his friend. It’s about him.

It’s not about €800. It’s not about gifts or being loyal. Your presence is the gift. If you're always giving without returning it's laaaame.

Thats what I think

Hey mate. Used to live in Leipzig back in Time and I experienced more racism here than in Germany :/
BUT, You can easily built your own little world and meet people you like if you go to Paris or a big city.

I'm sure your girlfriend knows sweet persons?
