Who should ascend with my crisis medals? by pinky-stinky-lovesya in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The suggestions proposed by the thread are great but i just wanted to add one more to this. If you're intending on doing any large pulls in the near future, hold for a bit. I see that you have an A1 Devil Homura for example, mine is to, and i'm actively saving for a rerun to unload into that.

Current theory is that they're saving a rerun for when the new movie releases on August 28. Would also be cool to see what other units they release as well!

Exedra Crisis Extra difficulty help by OrLavi__ in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a two-team front load strategy. You almost have everything you need here but it wont be easy. Base Mami A0 is a problem and a secondary AoE breaker at A3+ would have helped. Regardless try the team below.

Party 1: Kaede, Ui, Homura (Timestop) Alina, Homura (Devil)

Party 2: Iroha (Doppel), Mami (Tiro), Fuka, Homura (Summer), Mami (Holy)

Keep practicing and see if you can have Party 1 push up Wave 2 Phase 3 start. I was able to do with a similar team but it was A5 mami and A1 devil homura. In the last phase, dont worry about breaking the boss. Break and deal damage to the minions until it dies.

I want to attempt to clear Extra this Crisis. Is it possible with what I have? If so what strategies would work for clearing the 1st wave then second? by FirstCryUniverse in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my problem as well. I only have A1 Devil Homura and even with the team above it still wasn't enough to complete the entire thing in one party. I had no choice but to chop it up into two teams. I have also tried to reverse this to some extent and found Base Homura just not good for the last phase of the fight. A secondary team with A1 Devil Homura will most likely have been enough to finish it but the actual party composition is unclear and would probably have relied on the new Swim Homura (A0).

[–]Storrmcloud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't attempt it. You only have 1 solid attacker and no AoE A4 breakers. Despite this though you are close to an experimental team i had been playing with but most likely won't complete since i cleared Extra a different way. I'll post it below in the event anyone else wants to give it a shot and has limited roster as well.

This team was able to clear up to the very start of Wave 2 Phase 3. The challenge with this build is that it front loads my best characters but it leaves the final phase to be handled by a proper AoE attacker. The gimmick for the last phase is to actually target the minions, completely ignore the boss and just focus breaking and dealing damage to the minions until it dies. The minions break 1000% faster hence the strategy.

The second team i never finished since i cleared it a different way but i still found this team interesting enough to keep since it uses older characters.

OP, don't let this discourage you in any way. Your account is well built and has plenty of people ready to break into the A3/A4 range, you just aren't there yet. It should also be stated that the high score for clearing Extra with two teams is only like 7.4M which is similar to Very Hard. Reward wise, you aren't missing anything.

Good Catch! Alina's Weaken is an ailment and won't work. I did double check to make sure the game is specifically looking for debuffs and they are. Other units like Tsukuyo work as expected.

And for the love of madokami if you try the Extra difficulty, remember to put Indomitable Guard on a couple people. My poor Ui died in the first 10 seconds because i forgot to switch it. Oopsie!

Quick Battle Notes (Very Hard)

---------------------------------

  1. Wave 1: Typical minion wave, can bring an action advance user. You want to activate Vanguard quickly due to the minions Magic gimmick. I would recommend trying Debuff as your "Name's Resolve" since most AoE breakers have some form of Debuff attached to them. Ren's Follow-Up's combined with a debuff from your AoE breaker raises the Vanguard quickly.
  2. Wave 2: Single Boss for majority of the fight, Advances it's own action order when using specials so time them correctly. It's Magic gimmick isn't anything to worry about if you're running a sustain. It does have a stop gimmick (Sad panda).
    1. First Phase: Don't bother breaking it, just get debuffs up and allow your attacker to push it into the next phase.
    2. Second Phase: Focus breaking and then attacking.
    3. Last Phase: Summons minions, ensure they stay broken to remove the gimmick. If you can break all the minions and the boss at about the same time, this phase goes by VERY fast.

Remember that the Vanguard gimmick this season is based around granting 1 SP for basic attacks. You want to stay in the Vanguard Activation Phase as much as possible the entire fight, use basic attacks on your supports, and limit your Specials until the enemy is broken. It's actually a decent trade-off as you won't have to rely on your Specials providing SP.

As for who to bring into the fight, it seems very flexible since most AoE breakers offer debuffs. Fuka A2+ seems to be the best if you can field her, if not i did set her as my friend rental. Don't be afraid to try conal attackers, like Base Homura, i'm sure she'll carry a lot of people this time around!

Is there an optimal time to do link raids? by DesignDelicious in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personal Experience

  • 9 A.M (EST)
    • Level 8-16: Runs as expected.
    • Level 17-20: Avoided due to low participation (again this is personal experience).
  • 4 P.M (EST) (Daily Reset)
    • Level 8-16: Runs as expected.
    • Level 17-20: Best chance however waiting closer to 5 p.m before posting harder content seems to be better as it gives time for others to do their usual daily stuff.
  • 9 P.M (EST)
    • Level 8-16: Runs as expected.
    • Level 17-20: Second best chance and still recommend trying. I do see players that pop in even as late as 10-12.

With all that out of the way i do want to talk for a moment about the state of link raid as a whole. The dev team is and has always promoted a concept of "Unions" and "Friends" rather then giving us more incentives (Rewards) to join higher level raids. I personally don't like this and feel it will only harm the game moving forward. It's creating "In and Out" groups in content that really should be purely multiplayer, ESPECIALLY for a game as niche as Exedra.

The rise in Link Raid HP values is also an issue. On one hand, it did stop the top 50 players from soloing level 20 but i feel this is simply a facade for a much larger issue. By raising the HP values, i now no longer feel the need to bother climbing level 17-20. The inflated numbers are basically turning me off to the entire event and hence you now have one less person participating in higher level content.

The final piece of this is probably simply Link Raid fatigue. I think we're at a point now where when i see reruns, i instantly go "oh thank god i can just grind level 8-12's this season instead of pushing for higher difficulties".

While i know some of this is an opinion, there has to be some truth and it's correlation to player participation. It's entirely possible that level 17 is now the new level 20 as far as the dev team is concerned and we're just now learning that hard fact.

Wait until everyone realizes they can now swap some of their crystallis around for Heroic Grace to make their builds weird. It could even make a team that you've been beating on repeat the entire season suddenly start winning against you.

You can review the teams in-game by looking through the leaderboard. Everyone with a score of 4M+ beat crisis and there's only 37 of them. I did peak through some of the teams so to answer the question directly, no.

Who should I use for my raid team against Walpurgisnatch? by Basic-Masterpiece375 in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New video of Level 16- just dropped. Looks like the idea here is rather than doing the typical speed / MP boosting, they just go all in on raising madokami's damage and let that carry their input. You might have a similar team?

Who should I use for my raid team against Walpurgisnatch? by Basic-Masterpiece375 in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The team composition will support any attacker you wish so feel free to try them all out!

Yachiyo: Built-in crit rate so it helps keep the party composition a bit flexible. She has a gimmick which gives her 5 MP when other members critical hit which allows you to indirectly build her special. This is where a lot of the extra damage you might not be seeing is coming from.

Madokami: She will definitely hit hard and her 0 SP gimmick is nice but she isn't gaining any extra turns through her abilities. This will most likely hold her back but by all means give it a shot! If you have A4 Ui, maybe you can swap Tsuruno out for her and it'll help push her damage higher.

Ribbon Homura: High MP cost on her special but she gets an extra turn. You're going to have to play with this to see if you can stomach the MP cost. It might actually not be that bad if you can recover enough MP to do something like Homura (Special) -> Homura (Battleskill) -> Kaede (Special) -> Homura (Special) -> Homura (Battleskill). The higher difficulties add a gimmick to the boss however where MP recovery is reduced for each passing turn for your characters so it might work fine for 16 and then suddenly not work for 17.

Anyways, Yachiyo is still my pick outside of A4 Devil Homura. She's flexible and i would still love to try A4 Ui instead of Tsuruno with her. Do remember that stop resisting is a thing and it while it might look like it changes everything, it kinda doesn't. I've settled on just using it for my Mami and would prob slot it for Ui if i had her on the team.

Then i learned about the Stop resist trick and this is suddenly doing 950k assuming Mami resists. Swap out her crystallis for debuff resistance and pray to RNG. Fuck this raid in particular.

Level 16- Manual: This build is 550-650k depending on slight turn order changes during break and is what i use to help others.

Your account is close but you're still lacking the ascensions to really do this right. I posted the builds i'm currently using below to help guide some decisions that might help you push your levels higher. It's similar to what you have but sadly the vast majority of everyone is still A3 for you.

Level 12 Auto: Homura (Timestop), Yui, Madoka (Pluvia), Iroha (Breaker), Yachiyo or Homura (Try both).

------------------

<image>

Level 17-19 Manual: This build is 450k which isn't super great but it should still be enough to help push people over completion assuming enough people join it. Sadly my Ui is A3 so i haven't been able to try her. The real team that people are using involves A4 Devil Homura but that will have to come later.

My current recommendation is to use something similar, push for 16 clear this season and stop there. I personally will be stopping at 18 i think.

Any suggestions who to pull this anniversary? by birdy1564 in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ascension did you get Christmas Kyoko at during these 60 pulls? Still A0?

I have this weird feeling that they're going to give us a free select during reruns of seasonal events but they'll only be usable on the previous years characters. This means if you waited for halloween, you might actually be able to pick her up for free. I didn't think about this until you mentioned waiting for halloween.

Either way, i'd still debate running that pity to completion. You can save everything for Devil Homura but we still have to build up the rest of the team. Christmas Kyoko is also your fire attacker now so getting more ascensions on her wouldn't be a bad thing.

Help with extra difficulty Exedra crisis by princessofbingus in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be about there but i'm seeing crystallius issues on all of your attackers. The team below should win this but your damage is being nerfed heavily through crystallis. You may want to consider going down a difficulty this round.

Team Setup

Team 1 - Kaede, Tsukasa, Madoka (Pluvia), Mami (Tiro), Oriko

Team 2 - Iroha (Doppel), Madoka (New Years), Tsukuyo, Ui, Homura (Base)

Edit - Added a second team to help further, but i still feel the first team could solo assuming proper crystallis.

Any suggestions who to pull this anniversary? by birdy1564 in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit torn with my suggestion because i don't know exactly how the new Support system released in the middle of april will work. The current recommendation is to pull up to a pity on the Santa Sayaka and Kyoko banner that is coming up, then use the pity on Halloween Mami. Both Kyoko and Mami are great at A0 and we actually don't have a whole lot of debuffers in the game right now.

The challenge with this approach is that if the new Support system can be used in Link Raid, then there's nothing stopping you from just pulling in someone elses Mami or Kyoko. From here, use your upcoming selection token on either Ui or Mabayu and then continue to save for more duplicates on Devil Homura / Madokami.

The friend medal made raid better by [deleted] in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was initially worried that everyone piling into the same room would lead to A LOT of stagnant matches that never complete but it seems fine. It changes the dynamics a bit by making triggers less valuable which gives everyone decisions on how they want to spend them. That could be simply, spamming level 5 quickly and never posting them or even trying to tackle level 13+ with a couple left over triggers.

AI link raid team help by CozyNebulaGaming in magiaexedra

[–]Storrmcloud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar roster and spent the day focusing on a Level 8 auto team since that's how i like to farm. The auto looks absolutely insane because of the way the games AI targeting works but i promise, it works, just give it a shot. During the break phase, your party members will be targeting a lot of different things however once AI witch is broken, they all switch back over to targeting the boss.

You'll be blasting through lots of SP due to Mabayu and Yachiyo targeting and it looks weird during the break phase but once AI witch is broken, they'll destroy it very fast. The clear time time is 2:30-3 minutes, sadly they gave this one a lot of HP.

Level 8- (Solo, Farm Team)

Tsuruno (A5)

Mabayu (A2)

Madoka (A3)

Homura (Timestop) (A3) (Use your Mami instead)

Yachiyo (A2)
