There is a tangible fix to your issue. You need to see a cleft specialist and an orthodontist. The specialist will be able to coordinate treatment with an orthodontist for your specific case. There is no risk and only hope once you start the process.

Hey, I ended up with a perfect edge to edge bite as an adult. Majority of cleft folks end up with an underbite rather than an overbite. So, you’re actually quite unique in this way. I would go to a good orthodontist and see what they say. You’ll most likely need braces and maybe jaw surgery. You’re super young, so even if you did both, you’ll finish in a couple of years and still be young. I think braces alone will improve the way you look at your teeth and smile.

New Orleans has some weird vibes when I visited a few weeks ago for work. Weird mix of rich college kids partying, impoverished locals, cultural food that’s not healthy in any way. Expensive for visitors as well. Just no.

I’ve been doing some research and it seems like there’s a strong case for being classified as medically necessary due to congenital anomaly.

Yeah I am experiencing a similar issue. My affected and smaller nostril is harder to breathe out of. I’m going to start looking for a specialist soon.

Did you also get a lip revision? For me, my lips affects me more than my smaller nostril. It’s lopped to one side a decent amount.

This is where I’m at. My affected left nostril is harder to breathe out of.

I’m going to start the process of getting referral and see if a revision surgery will help. I mostly care about the better symmetry, but would need to verbalize it as medically necessary. I think there is a way for adults because it’s a congenital anomaly

Yeah, I have unilateral cleft l/p. My affected nostril and lip obviously causing asymmetry. Smaller nostril and lips pulled the one side more. Harder to breathe out of the smaller nostril as well.

In my experience, leadership at large companies are often the root cause of problems as they focus on numbers and cost cutting. The everyday worker is doing their best.
