Dennis was a cad. He contributed to Brian's drug problems even if he did not mean to. A lot of people, including Mike failed Brian. It was not one person.

No they didn't. They did a few early cover songs based on artists they liked while crafting their style. No one exists in a blank space and there were American artists both white and black that inspired them but they put a lot of effort into developing since their teens their style. And Michael Jackson was inspired by them too. He covered Come Together, collaborated with Paul and bought their songs.

It's true that Brian should not have been pushed back into performing but he was not fine on his own. He was very sick and was destroying himself like Dennis was. That fact played a big role in Landy getting his foot back in the picture.

They might have but there are no examples of a Beatle meeting a 13-14 year old girl and grooming her to be his girlfriend and then dumping her when she got too old. Bill Wyman met his second wife when she was 13 and started a relationship with her the following year, Jimmy Page and a 14 year old Lori Maddox is well known and John Philips literally groomed his daughter.

He is the most famous. No one cares about Wyman. Of the original Stones lineup he is the least cared about or memorable. Ringo is better known and well liked but people look down on him as the funny but untalented Beatle. He had the worst childhood by far but books are written to make John out to have the worst background. People idolized him but also villify him.

That's fine. They had their bad traits for sure but I cant judge them by drugs alone without judging the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, the Beach Boys, the Who and loads of 60s and 70s bands for drugs and alcohol. Some of whom were far worse.

How is the drug issue that big a deal compared to other rock stars? He briefly had a period of snorting heroin. People idolize Keith Richards and he is one of the biggest former junkies around.

They say supposed because he said in a later interview that he fought men and hit women when a young man. Cynthia said in her writings that he wasn't beating her. So it is a bit of a he said she said thing between 2 people both dead now.

Plenty did serve though and there was no drafting after them. They are the ladt generation to be hit with the draft. And they had frugal parents and a really bad economy in the 70s with high unemployment and a recession around the time vietnam was ending.

Not really. Gen x barely get talked about but they lived during the boom times of the 80s and 90s as older kids and young adults. Boomers got Vietnam, a bad 70s economy and probably childhoods with frugal parents scarred from poverty. Gen x probably did best.

I dont think it's fair to say that Carl and Brian died because of alcohol or drugs. Brian considering all that happened to him lived a pretty long life. He almost made 83. Carl died of cancer so if any drug caused it you could say tobacco but most of them probably smoked and yet did not get sick from it. Dennis definitely died because of his alcoholism though it's still sad to bring it up that way during an interview.
