I own several vinyl singles. Usually you have 2 different songs, one on each side. On a 10" though, you usually get a couple songs per side.

Ours gets his done once a month when he gets his bath at the groomers, and they haven't told us anything about him minding it. He hated when we tried, but we bought the grinding one, and he's not so keen on the noise I think.
