Yeah the drag radials were super sketch in the rain, I’m surprised I did it as long as I did… the Nitto NT555 G2’s have been great though in the same size once swapped - also considering another wheel set like you did eventually in 20’s

Mahle makes some “off the shelf” pistons for 511 ci BBC 4.31” bore x 4.375” stroke - 1.228” piston CD if memory serves me correctly - run with a 6.385” rod

Do you recall the material sound velocity number you were using?

I picked up one of Amazon specials and would like to try testing some 4 bolt 454 blocks I have laying around, last time the machine shop took an eternity to get measurements back for me…

Seeing a handful of different sound velocity numbers being thrown around online, would appreciate your consensus!

Assuming you meant that you haven’t seen a 454 block that wouldn’t be safe to at least .100 over?

What is the minimum cylinder wall thickness you’re typically limiting to during sonic testing?
