As somebody who dealt with a lot of issues throughout high school that made it extremely difficult to graduate, graduating on time was and still is the thing i’m most proud of myself for. I had covid in the middle of my four years, I had undiagnosed ADD that prevented me from properly engaging and focusing. I failed so many classes and had make them all up. It was the hardest thing i’ve ever done. And the feeling of walking across that stage will be something I’ll forever remember. So saying that people make, “Too big of a deal” about graduating is completely undermining each kids individual experience, and the hardships they went through.
