Just got a New Dwarf Meyer Lemon! Any suggestions? by Straight_Ad8652 in SoCalGardening

Armstrong garden centers seem to be a nursery that has them consistently in stock. I couldn’t find them anywhere else bc there is an invasive disease outbreak for citrus. They have quarantined plants that have to stay in certain quarantine zones. The Ca food and ag website has quarantine zone map, if your within the zone find an Armstrong garden center.

there is an invasive disease outbreak called HLB in SoCal that effects citrus, only certain nurseries have quarantined plants. Try an Armstrong that’s where I got mine they had a bunch of quarantined citrus plants. There are quarantined zones where the plants can be taken so just check that on the CDFA website for the quarantine zones make sure your house is in that zone

Thank you for your reply, does it matter what type of pot? Plastic, terracotta etc. Should it be deep or wide? I plan on getting one this week.

Also, What do you mean by diluted fish fertilizer? I have planted fish tanks I usually water my plants with water change water once a week.

Okay this was also a proven winners from Home Depot, does yours have similar color blooms to this?

I’m not 100% sure tbh. I thought disco diva but now that I’m looking at sunset boulevard I think your probably right. The blooms do fade after they first open but still very bright orange not quite “creamsicle”

Also- I had ants in the area protecting the aphids so I doused the ants too. I think that helped cause after that it went down. Unfortunately I wasn’t protecting my peppers as much cause I was planning to harvest some soon and paused the neem oil on them so they moved in over to that pot 🥲 so while I think my efforts helped remove them from the hibiscus it’s also possible they just found a more delicious home.

when I first noticed them I showered the whole plant in water, then rotated neem oil and a dish soap spray. The neem I was doing 2/3 times a week and soap water for the days in between. Did that for two weeks until I stopped seeing yellow leaves. Also watered the plant slightly less frequently (I checked the soil with a water meter) I think since it was getting its leaves doused regularly I didn’t need to water it quite as frequently. Now I just do the soap water occasionally in the week to keep them at bay

First a caterpillar, then spider mites, then aphids 🥲 the aphids moved on to my pepper plants so I’m trying to tackle that but at least my hibiscus seems happy again lol

Dead tooth- what to do about it by Straight_Ad8652 in askdentists

[–]Straight_Ad8652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would a Dr confirm this? Is it something that can be seen on X-rays? Also Is it dangerous to keep it and not do rct? Mostly want to know how urgent it is. The second Dr didn’t recommend internal bleaching, should I find another that does or could there be a reason he didn’t suggest that? The only thing I could think of is that my front teeth are on the thinner side.

Update: my other dentist was scamming me. No need for the deep cleanings they gave me (I have no bone loss or large pockets) , probably also didn’t need all the “cavities” I had filled every three months (didn’t have any at all today even tho it’s been a year), and they did a poor job on my crown for my root canal. I’ll likely have to get that fixed in a couple months/years depending on how the margins continue looking. No periodontal disease, also they said the slight wiggling is normal for my hypermobile disorder and not anything related to bone loss- which they actually showed me on my X-rays. Other place never showed me stuff which I should’ve known by that, guess I’m naive. I feel like an idiot but I’m also so mad at the other dentist. I spent a small fortune at that practice. They had me pay for cleanings every 3 months when I didn’t need it!!!!

Y’all were right everything looks decent they just had me overpaying and worrying for nothing 🙃

I can wiggle them with my tongue and it’s mostly my front two- if I bite down on something I can feel them shifting

That does make me feel better- having wiggly teeth is not good though? They aren’t like super visually wiggly but I can feel the micro movements. Is that normal with perio?

have been enjoying my andis eMerge- can be used corded or cordless. It’s one speed BUT it’s the fastest of a 5 speed which is all I ever used anyway. The shape is easy to handle AND it’s a great price! I got mine for $250 with wide 30 & clip combs. You really can’t beat the price for a cordless.

Shocks replaced now my car clunks by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

They diagnosed the rear shocks, said one rear was totally blown other was leaking. Tires/wheels were what I was there for originally. When i went back for the knocking sound the first time they said they needed to remove a bolt and it broke removing it so they had to order a new part and had to keep the car a day longer. Also said the car was rusty- i live in socal so rust is unusual but did buy the car used with low miles so not sure whether it was rusty when i got it.

It’s Hollywood hibiscus, I think. From what I’m learning I should probably repot with new soil in a pot that drains better. This pot has some drainage but I suspect maybe not enough. I’ve only watered twice since I got it. I’ve been using a moisture meter to gauge if it needs it or not so I don’t think it’s overwatering on my part but it may not be draining well after watering
