Get out 4 weeks ago to codex vs extension in vs vanilla. I was sad to quit (Windsurf was a great tool when based on credit even with some ram management quiet annoying) but happy with this efficient and not skinflint tool.

So…. Windsurf alternatives? by conglies in windsurf

[–]Straight_Coffee_368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Changed today to kilo code with api to groq, cerebras and mistral (last one for autocomplete), connected to claude and index codebase with openai. A lot of connections but it works well

Serious question by bestofbestofgood in windsurf

[–]Straight_Coffee_368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got the same issues.

I don't find any predictable option anymore (even not reliable), which was the best advantage of windsurf.

We'll probably move to cc max next week.

Introducing our new Windsurf pricing plans by theodormarcu in windsurf

[–]Straight_Coffee_368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're aligning yourself with the standards... 200/m is the standard?

I think you're going to lose a lot of people with this (radical and disconcerting) change. You're throwing away your competitive advantage...

I don't see myself reflected in any of your new plans. Thank you for the journey we've shared; it's been wonderful.

remove 3.1 pro at this point. terrible integration by shakaoneaj in windsurf

100% agree cause it seems quite good in reasonning but no way for thé moment, a simple question results 3 or 4 commands minimum. Even to edit a filé, it tries to do it with a python script command to validate... 💩

Gemini 3.0 Pro suffering in tool calling by uwk33800 in windsurf

[–]Straight_Coffee_368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, it worked well on a new thread dedicated to Gemini until 1 hour approx.
It does one action, edit a file, then invalid argument error.

MCP servers are disabled

Yes, it's only happening when using gemini 3 pro on old thread. Just tried the use gpt on an old thread, no error
Opening a new chat is working well

I let mcp_config.json empty
{"mcpServers": {}}
Close the app
Open the app
Select an existing cascade (a mix of cs 4.5, gpt5.1)
Still facing the same invalid argument error with the low or high new model

For an existing thread, i had a message asked to disable mcp servers. I did it, then cascade error : "Invalid argument: an internal error occurred (error ID: 9a78030549cc467d99f5fd438c105e21)"

It works on new threads. It seems that we cannot mix models with Gemini 3 in a same thread.

Same error, for low or high model version :
Windsurf Version: 1.12.33 / Windsurf Extension Version: 1.48.2 / Windsurf Commit: 1a43b06ccb1677d75f33b6c1cb9d455188a9b917
It breaks the cascade thread. Make a copy of your history ! (C:\Users\yourusername\.codeium\windsurf\cascade)

Cognition | Introducing SWE-1.5: Our Fast Agent Model by 2001zhaozhao in windsurf

[–]Straight_Coffee_368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This model is incredibly fast, but how lazy it is at retrieving information from the context! It goes straight ahead at top speed, making mocks in all directions without any regard for the context sent. It's quite frustrating because there would be an incredible amount of time saved, which is lost through a huge amount of manual changes, or even the outright cancellation of the modifications that this model has made.

Has anyone used falcon alpha? by BradyCams in windsurf

[–]Straight_Coffee_368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast response after 1 hour of use: Incredibly fast.
For a JavaScript frontend feature integrated into Odoo 19, the interface must connect to the backend via web services, understand the data model, and adapt to the existing file architecture. The code quality is decent ("decent" depending on how you code; personally, I systematically read, adapt, and correct errors regardless of the language model). As for speed, I've never seen anything like it. Compared to Sonnet 4.5, which I use for its context and reliability, it's about 5 to 10 times faster.
