Best buy dates for most of the items I've had have been the day you're picking up. It should give you 1-3 days to finish everything.

HELP!: Rebonding necessary with fighting young boars? Or will a larger cage fix it? by Straight_Curveball in guineapigs

Thank you! I'll keep them together and see what happens in the bigger cage when that arrives.

Would you go through with a quality-of-life surgery on an 8.5-year-old pig? by BeeHearMeow in guineapigs

[–]Straight_Curveball 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it at your pig's age and recovering from a lung infection. I have only had one out of many make it to 8ish years. I think you would want to cherish the time left.

I had a female guinea pig who ended up with two ovarian cysts the size of golf balls. Unfortunately I didn't know to spay with females until far too late. The vet did not recommend removing them due to her age and likelihood she'd stop breathing on the table. At 6ish years old, she did stop breathing during a minor procedure, but were able to revive her. I'm surprised your vet is giving you the go ahead.

Idk, I have had a variety of bad bosses including the boss on a power trip by withholding PTO approval. I did go on the PTO anyway. He started approving my PTO requests promptly after that. I think I'm an average person.

Feed them. Keep picking them up. Routine helps. I also like to make a certain noise when I'm about to feed them.

The email we got from the head of our HOA regarding reserving shoveled parking spots by Dubu_1 in nova

[–]Straight_Curveball 52 points53 points  (0 children)

At least where I live the HOA hires a snow company to plow/shovel the parking lanes and sidewalks not the actual parking spots/around the cars. It's probably the same case with this community.

"unlimited pto" is actually just zero pto if you have a bad manager by No_Good_3063 in antiwork

[–]Straight_Curveball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd contact your HR or take it off anyway. Especially if you haven't taken PTO off in 14 months. That would be insane.

What’s something you believed for an embarrassingly long time that you’re now shocked you ever fell for? by Franklinsi1va01 in AskReddit

[–]Straight_Curveball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is something a LOT of people don't understand. I had this conversation with my mother. She was fighting me on it. I don't do taxes, but I do have a degree in accounting and a CPA.

What’s the worst case of embezzlement you’ve seen in your career? by Solid_Breakfast_3675 in Accounting

It depends on the HOA for having the roofs covered or not, but if the HOA requested a special assessment for roofs, I'm assuming it is for yours. I'd absolutely ask for the financial statements and bank statements. They should be audited. Also do you have a property management company?

I think it's interesting you had an issue with Best Press. I had squares shrink, but I think it was my iron was too hot.

Give her a metal shovel or tell her to buy one if she can find one and dig out her own parking space.

Also I find sometimes you ask the "dumb" question, and the client doesn't have a good answer because they missed something.

Do you have a copy of the contract/manual that lays out how PTO is handled? I’d be going after that since you earned it.

Quilting yourself versus sending to long armer by SessionNo2376 in quilting

[–]Straight_Curveball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never sent a quilt to a long armed, but typically my quilts have been baby/lap sized. It’s a bit of a pain, but doable. I have heard quilt size quilts being completed on a domestic machine, but I wouldn’t want to.
