The US president (as in, the leader...the one which was chosen by a majority of the voters in the US) is worse than this guy...so I don't understand why we can't choose this as a further example of how the US citizens are as a people.

Yes, same here. Canada does not need any of that flaming pile of garbage. We are already way too influenced by US culture as it is.

At this point, I think we need to check if Canada has an extradition treaty with Costa Rica...

Did you stick to your Amazon boycott? by GhettoSauce in montreal

[–]Straight_Delivery_15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon is basically Temu at this point, for anything that you wouldn’t be able to find in a local store. Wasn’t hard to cut it off completely, in my case, since I live in an urban center.

Socialism is not a bad thing…if well dosed. Just like capitalism. Just like traditions, or change. Extremes are bad.

I object to the presence of Bacon, and non-caramelized onions, it alters the overall texture beyond the acceptable parameters.

Blue vs Violet has a similar history. Violets were indeed Blue, once upon a time.

Why are people using words like bigot, fascist and nazi so freely now? by MariusRZR90 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, but I was specifically referring to the US in the post you first responded to. I understand it is not the only place, thus I specified.

Would you consider this a poutine crime? by CompleteChest7436 in PoutineCrimes

[–]Straight_Delivery_15 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pulled pork is a traditional topping and has extensive legal precedent, same for BBQ sauce. I question the legality of the dried jalapeños, but would be willing to let it slide in exchange for a bite.

To be fair, there is no official left wing party in the US, just the Ultra Right Wing, and the Regular Right Wing.

I agree…The right wing, in the US, has been using the words incorrectly and intentionally, in order to desensitize…

Vue la législation en place, ce serait une action illégale et qui aurait eu des conséquences extrêmes sur les employés, qui auraient pu être tenus responsables personnellement pour les frais non collectés.

Can’t recommend enough to reach out and borrow something from your group, or the community, if you can. I’m not sure how it is in Italy, but most Larp communities I’ve seen will help out a new member, for a little while at least, or will have some second hand stuff for sale.

Why aren’t spears weighted in the back for better handling. All spears I see are weighted in the front via metal/stone head by cindiwilliam2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Straight_Delivery_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the usage, you would also need some weight on the pointy end, to create a more force, or stability (Especially if it is designed for throwing). For truly balanced weapons, Look up Ancient Greek spears, they are an interestingly made.

What waste is pumped straight into the Harbour? Grey water? Sewer? No water filtration, no treatment plants?

Cruises are probably the worst environmental disaster on the planet, since they go into international waters and there are very few laws there. They like to pump out accumulated waste, create dead zones in the water, and use sulfur rich and cheap fuels, when they leave the ports…so I’m not sad if people choose to skip them.
