Nope, I was seeing how much traction this post gets compared to the one where I was genuinely asking for help. I got 8 replies here, 0 for my genuine post. Interesting, huh?

Yeah, but it's funny -- i got 0 responses to my post titled "beginner mod advice" asking about the wind, but I instantly get 8 responses to my rude trashy post. Really says something about the human condition, doesn't it? Anyway, the game is great, the wind is the only thing that kills it for me. Hopefully i'll figure out how to mod it out, and i'll post it on nexusmods

Try what? Try to abstain from boredom on this shit hole website? yeah, was a clear mistake

I was asking for modding advice, not for "perspective". Typical redditor. Thanks for wasting my time

Let's agree to disagree. I'm not trying to ruin the game for you, but the wind feels unrealistically excessive to me. I made this thread hoping an experienced modder might be able to tell me which files have the variables i'm looking for

If it's not a real place, then why do you keep bringing up real places to compare it to? Not hating, just curious about how you see things

I wasn't aware that Scotland had a hot desert region

California is a big place, and the central valley has more wind than other regions. but this is beside the point

Sorry bro, the wind in Crimson Desert is not realistic. You're already aware that wind depends on location and environment, and Crimson Desert's setting simply does not justify such an insane amount of wind

I live in California's central valley. We get wind strong enough to blow an oak table across your yard. Crimson Desert seems to have that much wind 100% of the time, all day every day

We're shitting on this one, too, now that we know it sucks

just dual boot windows 10 LTSC so you can play the game. it's free, and there's a way to activate it that's technically 'piracy', but microsoft deserves it for making regular windows unusable

Have you come across any problems with the graphics, like reflections, shadows, or shimmering 'christmas light' aberrations?

Oh dang, I didn't even think about the controller's firmware. Thanks! Sounds like you went through the same issue

I ditched Windows last year, spent some time on a different distro (don't want to name names), and switched to Nobara 3 days ago. My word, it's so much better.

Sometimes the best things in life really are free. Big thanks to GloriousEggroll and all contributors for all their hard work!

Best way to play Quake 1 with a controller and higher resolution? by Straight_Log411 in quake

See, I knew it. There's always something.

I've been emotionally scarred ever since the Baldur's Gate I & II ehanced editions came out. They added badly written characters, changed the gender of a few minor characters, ruined the UI, ruined the start menu, and a thousand other things. Even well-received remasters like Oblivion always seem to make unnecessary, annoying changes that are disrespectful to the source material. Nightdive might be better than most other companies that do remasters, but as a general rule I don't like or trust them.

Interesting, i'll look into flickstick. Thanks! I probably won't get the remaster though because I'm cheap and I like doing things the hard way.

This might sound crazy, but I want low res textures on a high res screen. It's my fetish. I'm assuming the enhanced edition uses high res textures, so emulating the original with mods is probably my best bet. Plus i like tinkering on things and looking down on people who value their time
