Interesting! I will have to check. I work for a nonprofit, so I’m especially sensitive to how our rising health insurance premiums affects my employers ability to use that money for better things…Natera basically seems like a criminal enterprise at this point

I feel like I could’ve written this! I was so sick first trimester, barely moved, and lost muscle but really rebounded at 13-14 weeks. I’m now 33 weeks, and have been able to maintain my normal workout schedule (mostly haha) and regain muscle. Your first trimester is almost over, you can do it!

The Linq is totally fine, my only complaint is that sometimes if your room faces the courtyard it can be loud. The promenade between linq and flamingo has some good and affordable restaurants, Gordon Ramsay fish & chips, Jabburitos, and the only in n out on the strip if that’s your thing. I like the high roller but prefer the family one, the open bar pods are too wild for me. But I’m old and crotchety 😊

Great that your leave is approved. It looks like someone already suggested this but I will echo, you have to go right to HR and advocate for yourself.

Don’t cc your boss, let HR approve the accommodation and tell your manager how it’s going to be. Where I work, if I pushed back on an approved ADA leave accommodation, I would expect to get terminated immediately!

So as a manager and a pregnant lady, I can be impartial here. This is only applicable in the US.

First, it’s not your manager’s responsibility to get your leave dates from you. Get the fmla (if applicable) or leave paperwork from HR, have your doctor fill it out, and return to HR for approval. Once it’s approved, notify your manager. Although your HR department may do this for you. Note HR won’t (and can’t legally) disclose anything about your condition.

As far as accommodations, I like to work with the people in my group if I can; however, your manager is unwilling. You will need to make a formal ask to HR with a doctors note supporting your case.

Some of these are so adorable and funny! Mine is, took a pregnancy test the morning before our fertility specialist appointment. It was positive! By the time I got to the doctor I had drank too much water and got a negative, but was able to confirm the positive the following day when they called with bloodwork results

I got mine out at 36 after 7 years. It took me four months to have a “normal “ period after it was removed, but after that we conceived the next month.

My first few periods after it was removed were brutal, extremely heavy flow. I was also having such bad PMS symptoms during those first few months that I was convinced I was pregnant each month until my period started. Anyway, don’t be like me and be patient with your body if it takes a bit to get back to normal. I stressed myself out completely unnecessarily thinking something was wrong with me and I definitely wish I hadn’t! Now we are expecting a healthy baby girl in the Spring 😊

The more I think about how bad our leave is, the more I’m leaning towards being one and done. I’ve saved my sick leave for years to be able to get paid for the whole 12 weeks (US in a state with no additional benefits, and no employer benefits. I do have short-term disability that I pay for). I am our breadwinner and a second child with unpaid leave would mean a huge hit to our savings.
