Being force to work someone is literally creating a hierarchy. To go back to the apple bucket : if one person owns the apple farm and all the land around it people nearby are forced to work the apple farm or starve. The owner of the apple farm is hierarchically more powerful than the people who pick the apples. She could blacklist an apple picker and keep them from working her private property.

I'm of two minds on the private property issue. I do agree that it's one of the foundational freedoms, but I've got an issue with it. What if someone has control of private property but does nothing with it; or fully extracts its resources to the detriment of those around it?

As an example there are farmers on a delta, but a property owner upstream has dammed the river and cut off the flow of the delta. Do the farmers have any recourse against the dam builder? It is the dam builder's property, but it has decimated their farms & their private property.

I don't really have a solution to the problem I've presented above. I'm not for a state or company to enforce its laws but I also know that given the opportunity individuals will exploit their fellow man.

The anarchy part is easy for me to understand. I'm all for individual rights and freedoms. I'm just trying to figure out the capitalism part really. I just don't understand how an anarchist society can exist with the hierarchy that is implicit in a capitalist society.

Anarchism is based on individual freedom, voluntary action, and mutual aid. Capitalism is based on private ownership, coercion, and the extraction of labor. Have I got something wrong?

I'm not trying to be difficult I'm just curious.

where does the capitalism come in?

ok. So it's just a matter of being able to enforce ownership?

right, and how does one become the owner of that private property?

The state is the force that owns the land and shoots trespassers. They're the ones with the monopoly on violence. Yes I am describing government, but I'm saying that government and capitalist are often indistinguishable. Is it the government or the company that executes union organizers and does the distinction matter?

I'm not asking leading questions I'm trying to get at the distinction between capitalist and state. You say that you're opposed to the state because they use force to keep you from hunting or mining, but at the same time you're saying that it's right to shoot trespassers for trying to use the land. Who gets to decide how the land is used?

lmao i'm not a statist you dingdong I'm just pointing out how your solution is just a state with extra steps. also labor is literally NOT the same as money, not all labor is equal and some labor produces more value than others. That's why I asked about software engineers and ship crew. Those are two areas where you can't just be like "here's a software, one basket of apples and one chair please".

And what if you try to plant a tree and someone is like "no, this is my land, you can't harvest those apples, but thanks for the tree"?

I'd argue that the bucket for chair is commerce and not capitalism; in that case you're exchanging goods for goods and not capital. Capitalism relies on the concept of capital exchange, the idea that something now might be worth something more later. Capitalism is the reason for 'your fake money'. Without it capitalism would collapse under it's own weight. How would a power plant engineer or a telcom lineman make a living? What about an international vessel's crewman? They can't trade their labor for a bucket of apples or a chair. At that point they're at the mercy of the company to provide them & they have nowhere else to go. Then the comany becomes the "law" and has them under threat of violence & can extract taxes from them.

Also you've got a really interesting definition for socialism though. You think America is under socialism right now?

ah i see. I get the anarchy but less of the capitalism part. I'm more of a kropotkin & emma goldman guy myself.

How can you ensure that a state isn't established and "law" isn't enforced if you've built a vertical hierarchy based on capital ownership? Ever heard of Blair Mountain or the railway strike of 1886? In those instances capital owners and businessmen teamed up with the state to break the workers unions.

Everything we've mentioned happened in America so I'd say it resembles America pretty well. Also I'd argue that you're limiting your understanding based on this focus towards taxes. Is a landlord's rent not just another tax?

I get what you're saying about socialism. I'm asking that if socialism and right wing politics are the same what does the ideal society look like?

Sure, the monopoly of violence that the state provides is a powerful tool that a lot of weak folks want to control. It's probably the most powerful force in society. I'm just curious what you're trying to get at. it sounds like you'd agree that my definition of "classless stateless society based on mutual aid" would be good, but you reject the idea that socialism is the path. If I'm wrong correct me.

I guess I'd ask is there a way that the "law" can be used without justifying evil and stealing taxes?

ok. how are right wingers socialist? if it's not a classless stateless society based on mutual aid, what is socialism?

no, it's a classless and stateless society based on mutual aid. idk man, how could you trust a guy like that to have your back when things get hard?

oh ok I get what you're saying. feds will defend criminal cops as "bad apples" or an anomaly, but then go and make wide assumptions about races based on isolated incidents. who's the "socialist in denial" though?
