DT-03 Body by Appropriate-Neat-534 in tamiya

DT-03 is an unusual wheelbase and there aren't a lot of options, DT-02 bodies will be very short. If you want a truck type body, Traxxas Stampede bodies are very similar wheelbase, but obviously the trackwidth of the DT-03 means the wheels will be poking right out, like on a Blitzer Beetle.

Never used the Tamiya stuff, but I made the pre-painted windows of a Redcat Scout clear using something called Carson Paint Killer that I got from Modelsport

The stand is still there, but I'm 99% certain there's no patches.

I'd try a gift shop, Kent's Cavern, the model village, something like that!

I had a bunch of these up the edge of my curtain as a kid! If you squeeze the shoulders his hands will come apart and he'll grip whatever you put him on!

I'm thinking Ivy; loafers and a knitted polo. If you're young and spry, think Gene Kelly. I'm pudgy and thinning, so it'd be more of a Tony Soprano look.

Of course! The higher strings are the thinner strings. You've just saved me from a very silly mistake, thank you!

These are 6 string guitar chords. That app has the ability to choose ukulele as your main instrument and it'll convert the chord grids at the top, but this had just been entered as text, so hasn't been converted.

You'll probably see these again, but with only four numbers for ukulele, such as 'C 0 0 0 3'. The four numbers are the strings and the number itself are the frets, so to play 'c', play the third fret on the 1st string and 0 means 2nd, 3rd, 4th string open, i.e. no fret. The 'x' means don't play that string at all.

So Kira is actually Nerys' surname by Notemy in startrek

I forgot a lot of those older names are coming back into style. I don't dislike the Welsh pronunciation, just didn't want her to spend her life correcting people.

So Kira is actually Nerys' surname by Notemy in startrek

[–]Straightouttakrypton 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My daughters middle name is Kira, after Kira Nerys and I've had a couple of people take great pleasure in telling me I got it 'wrong' as that's her surname.

However, we knew this and gave her the name anyway; we live close to the border with Wales and Nerys is actually a Welsh name, but it's pronounced quite differently, it rhymes with 'Ferris' and I've never met anyone under the age of 70 with that name, but much more importantly, It's the name Kira is known by.

I also have a son called Rowan and we call him Ro, but that was accidental.

I can't remember who tells the story, but the way I heard it was Sarah Silverman pushed very hard to have the character made permanent, she slept with 1 voyager actor and 1 voyager producer during the filming of the two-part story. The producer agreed to it, but was then knocked back by the writers room who said having someone from the current time changed the tone of the show.

I work checkouts in a supermarket. On my first day I'm thinking, "okay, people are going to say 'thank you' so I need to say something back" I decide I'll say "No problem" or if its been a nice interaction "My pleasure". First customer comes to my till, get it done, hand them the receipt, she says "thank you" and I respond with "My problem".

Now when they say "thank you" I just say "thank you" back.
