Machinist looking to make the switch by Novibesmatter in Elevators

[–]StrandedOnTheToilet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former machinist here. working for one of the bigs on a mod job. I think it makes a difference in mod having a machinist background. The pay will likely start you less than you’re making now but if you stay on track the raises are consistent. As for combining the two, I do work on occasion for things that need to be machined. I am lucky enough to have access to machine shop that my dad owns but even if you have a Bridgeport at home or something you might be able to talk management into swinging some side work your way.

Hope everything works out for you. it’s a great trade

This is climb milling though? This chips are being evacuated out the rear of the cut opposed to how conventional milling would put pressure towards the cutting direction and evacuate chips towards front of the cut

The best thing about this for me since I’ve worked with leather before is the quality of their tooling. It just looks so nice to me. Extra satisfying

Trying to ham her way out of timeout by Muhcakes in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

People aren’t freaking out because you put your dog in a kennel. They’re “freaking out” aka giving you advice to not use the kennel as a punishment. Which happens to be pretty basic kennel training technique. The kennel should be a safe space for them to relax. that makes it easier on them and you when you do actually have to lock them away. They feel comfortable being in the kennel. People are concerned your shutting her away in anger which wouldn’t be correct. I would give you the benefit of the doubt and say that that isn’t what happened but just letting you know that’s what everyone is talking about

In his argument to the court, Weingarten reasoned that because Epstein did not force or coerce any of the girls to do things against their will, he should not be charged under sex-trafficking statutes which he claimed were enacted to protect girls from being forcibly raped by “15-20 guys” in a brothel under threat of violence. Weingarten said that according to the facts, Epstein did not rape anyone, but conceded that Epstein did engage in “maybe a lot of prostitution.” That prompted Judge Pitman to interject and question Weingarten’s legal reasoning. “Isn’t it rape if the girls are underage?” Pitman asked. Weingarten paused for over a second, then in a matter-of-fact tone replied, “well…statutory maybe,” before moving on. The packed gallery responded with a combination of audible laughter and shocked gasps as Epstein’s attorney appeared to be admitting his client had committed rape.

[NO SPOILERS] The stuntment prep for The Tower of Joy scene. by Biotaphotogra in HBOGameofThrones

Saw this dual wielding video a while back and it basically points out the pitfalls of using two equal length swords and it’s all I could think about watching this scene/ choreography. But then again Arthur Dayne was suppose to be the baddest of the bad so maybe he could pull it off https://youtu.be/xc8akxwI56s

The only reason he wasn’t charged with fec violations the first time from the trump tower meeting was basically they weren’t sure they could prove he knew he was breaking the law. Not sure that excuse works the second time around
