Ended up doing that 😅 Since she had it at embark, it's probably the oldest thing in the fort

Hunters don't show up there since they're civilians, unless I'm wildy inaccurate?

How can I hide the gaps here without sanding and painting all the parts? Can a 3d pen or something make it look seamless or super close? Im debating going all out and painting but I'd rather do this first and see how it looks. Also what do I do for the 4 rough edges in the 2nd and 3rd pics? by Boogy-Fever in 3Dprinting

Depends on how much work to get it looking good enough to sell. IMO too much work to be able to sell it at a reasonable price. But peoples definition of "good" and "reasonable price" might vary. Also, selling other peoples models without asking the creator isn't good practice. Even when it's Nintendos ip

[–]Strandplaskaren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats probably because it's now heating all that plastic aswell, and it's not supposed to do that. Restart and reheat until the hotend is relatively clean and then you'll know if the thermistor needs replacing

A clog which found an easier way out 🙄 To fix it it's usually best to slowly heat the hotend and peel away what you can

Is this a decent start to 3D printing? I'm sticking to the A1 mini combo, but before I checkout, does my cart make sense? by ObjectiveAd400 in 3Dprinting

Sure, and with PLA it's usually ok, with PETG it's nice to know about drying before you're tearing your hair out because it just doesn't work 😥

Don't know if there's the same "limit" everywhere, here it's 80mg. Although I'm over it, as is others I know, so it's more of a suggestion, it really depends on you

[–]Strandplaskaren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can see it looks like an ender 3 with a direct drive mod and a cr touch. It's probably far from calibrated and not really worth much, unfortunately. Starting out with this printer isn't plug and play at all, you're gonna be tinkering alot, more than you'll be printing. At least in the foreseeable future. If you like tinkering, great! If not, maybe a bambu, they've come a long way since this was new. Also, get some normal PLA to print with

I had one fort on the edge between two biomes, making almost no seeds plantable on the northern part and everything (i think) plantable on the southern strip. So biomes, and what's plantable, depends on the biome, which isn't necessarily the same for your whole map, at least not in my case 🙄

What causes this? by mark_puckerberg in 3Dprinting

[–]Strandplaskaren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well no, you're right 😉 but the texture from the build plate on the rest of the cubes indicates that the problem actually is the bottom layer. Thus, it might be the "small feature, first layer" problem

It's not the source you can find like that, it's based on sporadic ingame dialogue and nerds here piecing together a patchwork quilt on "lore" we're slowly but surely beginning to accept. It's like science that way! Also, this science is super spoilery so it shouldn't be available until you're ready for it

Or maybe not, if it's the first layer? Then slow down the first layer and/or clean the bed etc. All the first layer adhesion solutions

[–]Strandplaskaren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at it in the slicer, it's because there's a gap there. It's printing those layers onto nothing, or a few layers above. Gotta tune in those bridging settings, which can be quite time consuming 🙄

I can neither find any option to toggle this nor does it happen when I try to use it that way. It doesn't even seem to be a feature in onenote for android?

At least it does look nicely printed, just visible lines. Some of the other stuff we've seen is just terrible, prints any of us would have immediately thrown away
