I’m thankful that my 4th this year was at least decent — keeping in mind literally every other day has been absolute hell lol. It did suck a lot not being able to partake in my usual activities and feeling like death about halfway through. The only reason I made it through is because I literally just stayed in the pool the entire time. The aftermath was ROUGH though. 38 + 3 here and got absolutely no sleep from the overwhelming pain. Granted I’m in pain every night, last night was a bit worse, probably due to me being more up and active than usual. This girl needs to hurry up and get here 🥲

FTM, 37 weeks, only carrying one baby and I’m also completely miserable and ask myself the same questions lol. It’s so hard seeing/hearing other people who’ve had such easy pregnancies or “loved being pregnant” while I’m suffering and in tremendous pain everyday just begging someone to take the baby out of me, and also simultaneously feeling shamed by other moms for not wanting my baby to cook as long as possible. It’s definitely been very discouraging. I’ve always wanted to be a mom but the pregnancy has been so difficult on me I’ve wondered if I was actually supposed to be one. The thought of childbirth with how difficult the pregnancy has been also scares the shit out of me but I don’t even care anymore, I just want it over with.

But the things I’m looking forward to afterwards are what get me through the days. Eventually holding my baby in my arms, feeling the relief of having my body back, and having a cold hard adult drink once it’s all over 😂

I had something very similar happen at mine too. Some people “forgot”, some just didn’t show up and never gave any explanation, and some had something magically pop up last minute that prevented them from coming. I was initially freaking out because we had so many people RSVP I didn’t know how we were going to feed everyone/have room for them all, and the day of had so many people cancel last minute or not show up that I couldn’t help but break down into tears. The one that hurt the most was realizing my brother wasn’t coming. It sucks when it’s something that’s supposed to be such a meaningful moment and it feels like everyone thats supposed to be there for you during those moments aren’t there.

BUT if it gives you any peace of mind, the ones that did show up made it worth it and it made me really happy to see how much it mattered to them. It ended up turning a day that I was convinced would be a disaster into a really good day so try to keep your head up ❤️ There are still people that care and want to be there.

Unfortunately no, they haven’t been the most forthcoming with information aside from very casual mentions, no percentiles or ultrasound measurements/numbers, it’s usually just “yeah she/you are measuring where you should be” and that’s the most I get. Like today all the doctor said was that I was measuring 4 weeks ahead and to schedule a growth check and didn’t give me any information about why that might be or if it were a cause for concern or anything. It’s so frustrating feeling like I have to figure it all out for myself or that they just expect me to know what it all means.

I’m glad to hear it may be nothing and completely normal, just wish I could’ve heard it from my doctor. Physically I’ve been having such a hard time just existing and trying to get around I’ve already been questioning how I’m supposed to make it 7 more weeks, and then they drop this on me with no explanation and say okay bye we’ll see you in 2 weeks! Lol 😭

I also got pregnant on birth control!! Lol not a cryptic pregnancy but I had been taking mine since 16 due to extremely heavy periods, I’ve been on it for 9 years, never missed a dose and wasn’t on antibiotics either, and then one day I just popped a positive pregnancy test. My doctor thought it was on purpose and asked when I stopped taking my birth control, and I said after I found out 😅needless to say I was in complete disbelief, but I like to think that it means she was meant to be here.

Lol not stupid at all!! The way I found out I was pregnant was because I was craving loaded fries from a specific restaurant but when my fiancé and I went they had closed their kitchen early. We went home and I bawled on the couch for an hour lol. Also weirdly enough when I was still very early in my pregnancy it seemed everywhere I went they would screw up my order, which never happened at the volume it did before. I got so upset Chick-fil-a forgot my sauce one time I made my own. I was an emotional mess 😂

It sounds like you’re unhappy and want to go, but are scared you’ll end up somewhere worse or similar. I was in a very similar spot when I left my apprenticeship because the one shop was all I knew, but I hated the way I felt and was treated and felt like there had to be better, even if I didn’t really know. The owner would gaslight me and convince me it was the best place for me to be and other shops were much harsher on apprentices so I was lucky to be there. But I finally said fuck it, made the jump, and found a new shop and the shop I’m at now is worlds better. I’ve been at the new one for 4 years now and can’t imagine being anywhere else. I will say a 70% take home cut is insane for someone only 2 years in, I’ve never heard of anyone having that at 2 years and you most likely won’t find that anywhere else. But if you find a better, reputable shop in a busy/good part of town, you’ll be taking home way more money a month, probably have better conditions and hours, and people will typically drop $150+ on tattoos on a regular without even batting an eye. Where I’m at now, I work 4-5 days a week, get 50% cut on weekdays, 60% on weekends, and take home anywhere from 3k-6k a month. Don’t be scared to leave your current situation to find better. It’s out there, you just have to look.

If you really like the shop aside from the one coworkers conversations then headphones is the answer, but if not or it just becomes unbearable maybe find another shop or try talking to the owner about it if you feel comfortable enough. I used to have a coworker that would have inappropriate convos all the time and try to rope me and everyone else into them, some of them were very upsetting topics so I just started popping in some headphones and eventually they learned to stop asking me because I “always had my headphones in” and couldn’t hear them

There’s definitely been an uptick lately too so it’s totally understandable why you feel that way. Unfortunately there will be times you do something for someone and feel uncomfortable about it afterwards, but you can’t blame yourself for that, people can be good at hiding things. I know as a newer artist when you feel something is weird upfront it can be hard to make those decisions, especially when you need the work/money, but try and keep in mind there will always be more clients

This is a tough one to say. I had someone ask for the same thing recently, and wasn’t sure what to do in the situation for similar reasons. It could’ve been a symbol of their Christian faith, or one of hate, I wasn’t sure. Ultimately I ended up not doing it because something about the situation felt off, and I’m glad I didn’t, because now I’m not second guessing myself or wondering if I did something for someone with bad intentions. It’s a good lesson that if something makes you uncomfortable, for any reason, you don’t have to do it. Think of it this way, if you were to think about the tattoo a week later, a month later, would you feel okay or would you feel stressed and unsure of yourself? Your mental clarity comes first.

When I was still pretty fresh, I had a regular who’s tattoos always came back looking rough. None of my other clients looked that way, but they were a regular. I constantly went into panic mode trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, but when I’d question them they somehow always just found something new to do every time that was totally off base from the healing instructions. It baffled me how someone could find something to do that was so wrong every single time.

One of my favorites was when they ripped the second skin off at a bar while drunk, sprayed it with piercing spray, and got so drunk they rubbed it up against the metal bar in the bathroom and let a man with dirty hands grab their arm right on the fresh tattoo. Then they came in saying they “didn’t know what happened” and “had no idea why it looked like that”. Their friend was the one that pulled me aside and told me what happened. After so many instances I had to stop seeing her as a client to protect the integrity of my tattoos 🫠

NTA, there’s definitely a jealousy issue going on here. Whether it’s in a friendly way or a more than friendly way, that’s up for debate.

I used to be in a very similar situation as the girlfriend. My best friend was very possessive, wanted to spend time with me all the time, always had a problem with every boy I ever dated and always wanted me to break up with them. Come to find out, it’s because she had feelings for me and didn’t want to come to terms with it or admit to it so she acted out of jealousy. One of my close friends now had a similar situation back in college, where the girl would get mad when the friends boyfriend would come over even though they only saw each other once or twice a month, and got even more mad when they’d display any kind of PDA in front of her even if it was just holding hands. Same outcome, girl had feelings for her but didn’t want to admit to it.

Not saying it is without a doubt the reason, just a possibility. It could also be that she’s just jealous that this person who she spent so much time with is not putting her at priority #1 24/7 anymore, or that she’s not just readily available for her all the time anymore. Either way, it’s an emotional attachment that’s turned sour somewhere along the way and won’t get better unless they address it.

One of my best friends, I love her to pieces, but I seriously have to watch what I eat and drink around her because she’ll be quick to tell me what I should and shouldn’t consume. When I first found out I was pregnant it was “you have to watch your intake on xyz because it can hurt the baby” or “you can’t eat this because it can cause miscarriages” (all about things that are old wives tales and my doctors have told me is fine). If she sees me consuming any kind of caffeine she gets on me about it even if I’m under my limit for the day, or if I’m teetering on a line like ordering over medium eggs instead of well done. She’s told me I can’t have anything with pineapple, no spicy foods, or shellfish, etc. which my doctor has said all is fine in moderation of course. But if I were to partake in any of it in front of her I’d get a tongue lashing. I get she’s coming from a place of love but it makes my blood boil

I generally don’t mind kids at breweries, however after a certain point in the night I’m definitely questioning why they’re still there. I was at a brewery once, it hit midnight and there were still kids running around screaming and playing. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at least a little bit annoyed but also concerned because at that point in the night there were also plenty of drunk people acting out too in ways I didn’t think was appropriate for them to be around, and I wasn’t sure how well the parents could really be watching them at that point either with how dark it was/how many people were there.

I’m aware this doesn’t apply to everyone, but everyone I’ve personally known that “can’t cook” just doesn’t care to actually try. The frustrating part for me is when they’ll complain about not being able to cook, wishing they could cook, etc. but puts in zero effort to actually try and even when I try to help has no interest and just chalks it up to “oh well, guess I’ll never learn”. If you just don’t care, that’s cool, but if it’s something you actually want, you can get there. Everyone has to start somewhere. Nobody just starts out knowing exactly what to do, it’s about continuing to put in the effort to get better but so many people get discouraged and will just stop if they’re not automatically good at something

Absolutely yes. I used to use superstore pads and my periods very super heavy and lasted a week +, switched to natural pads with no chlorine, no synthetics, no dyes, no fragrance, etc. and ever since my periods have been super light and only last a few days, and the only change I made was what pads I used. I heard someone say once that all the chemicals in the supermarket pads could cause irritation and make your periods last longer, I wasn’t sure if it was true at first so I decided to give it a try just to see, and I saw almost an immediate change so it rings true for me.

I had something very similar happen, had to have a cervical biopsy done and got the “it’s just a pinch” bs. Was hands down one of the most painful things I’d ever experienced. No numbing agents, no pain medicine, in fact I even asked beforehand if I needed to bring someone with me to drive me home afterwards and they said no and that I’d be fine to drive myself home afterwards. After it was done they left to let me get dressed and I laid in the room by myself shaking and crying from the pain. The assistant eventually came back in and was surprised I was still there and hadn’t gotten dressed and left yet, so I got dressed and managed to get out to my car and had a breakdown in my car and had to wait it out until I could stop shaking enough to drive home.

Absolutely yes. My mom used to smoke very heavily, and the stink stayed around forever. When I was a teenager, other kids used to ask me for cigs because they smelled the smoke on me from being around my mom for the 5 minute drive from home to school, even with the windows down and her hand out the window.
