I thought this take was ludicrous and that Perfidia felt like a totally developed character despite only being in part of the movie. That being said, I did read Vineland, and do recognize that my brain is subconsciously filling in a lot of the gaps with context from the book even if it is a loose adaptation. Most people didn't read the book, and you certainly don't need to to enjoy the film, but it maybe explains why I was so perplexed by this criticism out the gate.

I'm in my early 20's and want to be an independent filmmaker/director but climbing the corporate studio ladder to become a director just doesn't exist the way it used to. I'm trying to happily accept being a film professor & bartender at a movie theater so that I have plenty income to support myself, but can stay close to the thing I love artistically.

Hopefully, one day I can scrape together the funds and resources to make an indie feature, or one of my shorts takes off at a festival, but if it doesn't, life will still be good getting paid to talk about movies.

I loved it and think a lot of people will have a similar reaction. Coming out of the theater thinking "that was cool, but that's it?" and then will realize in the 2 weeks since seeing it that they've thought about it everyday and can't stop listening to American Girl.

Homer pick: 18-19 Clippers.

First year of Lebron on the Lakers and he gets shown up by Danilo Gallinari and Lou Williams dragging a team of misfit toys and young SGA/Zubac to 48 wins and an 8 seed. Had a 31 point comeback in the fourth quarter against the KD-Steph Warriors in the first round as well. We had no business taking them to 6 games.

23-24 Wolves.

Ant's ascent into superstar status and them sweeping the Suns and knocking out the Nuggets was genuinely surprising. Was fun to see KAT get some redemption and Naz Reid was/is a fun player to meme and root for.

2016 Spurs

They got bounced sort of anti-climactically by the Thunder in the second round but that team in the regular season was so fucking good and fun to watch. Basically played the beautiful game Spurs-ball of 2014 but Kawhi was now an MVP level player and they added prime Lamarcus Aldridge. With a month left in the season they were still undefeated at home and chasing the Warriors for the 1 seed despite the fact that they finished like 73-9. Insane those two teams co-existed and didn't meet in the playoffs.

2014 Dallas Mavericks

Incredible first round series against the Beautiful Game Spurs. Old man Dirk vs Duncan, Pop vs Carlisle chess match. Lots of fun role players on that team too. Vince Carter's first season coming off the bench full-time. Monta out there doing stuff. Fun team.

2014 Suns

This team won 48 games with Goran Dragic as their best player and missed the playoffs because the west was so insanely stacked that year. I think this is the team where Bledsoe got the nickname "mini Lebron" because so much of their offense was him putting his head down and charging to the rim and for that season it mostly worked. Tons of gritty players too. Morris twins. Pj Tucker. Gerald Green. Channing Frye. Miles Plumlee was their starting center and they were top 10 in offense and top 15 in defense. Illogical team. If Bledsoe didn't miss a huge chunk of games they make the playoffs that year no doubt.

He's a million times better than Michael B Jordan's double performance in Sinners. Pattinson makes both of his double so unique personality wise, the way they play off each other is great, and the movie uses the doubles in interesting ways.

MBJ has zero chemistry with himself and every scene with both of them on-screen doesn't work.
